Any fullsizer's run this trail? How long is it? The group wants to head up from CT to camp and wheel. Just wondering how the area is? thanks guys!

Area is nice, but the trail itself isn't that long. How built are these fullsizes? the trail has gotten a lot harder in the past few years, but there are only a few "hard" things on it

we are a group of friends all running full size chevy's 1tons, locked f+r and around 38" tires. Is this like a good afternoon trail? like 6hour run?

depends on the size of the group i guess. ive run it in 2.5 hours with a group of 3. fullsizes should be fine up there.

there are some great campgrounds on Rt 2.

There are only two large obstacles up there, but it should be noted that ALL go arounds are illegal. As Supazuk said, that road gets a lot of attention, so stay on the trail.

yeah from what i have read that is the plan, we will def. bring more out than we bring in. thanks for the tips guys.

I'd say if you wheel the whole thing, and then turn around, at about the halfway point of the trail there is a nice spot you could camp. Some locals call it the "Moonrock" just a big spot that is all rock where you could park the rigs, and some trees here and there, Im sure you could find comfortable spots to set up tents. The trail would probably be fun in a couple of full size'ers, wear kidneybelts though :flipoff2: the trail bounces you around constantly, just constant loose big rocks. I like it, one of my favorite trails that is close to home

we are staying at savoy state park campground for a long weekend in 2 weeks

we are heading up june 17th i think, w/e that thursday is

im just looking forward to having no cell service, good camping, good wheelin, and good friends

my friend stock went up there to take a peek but couldnt stay long, seems like it should be ok

I just ran it with my club last weekend. There are only 2 obstacles worth mentioning..

1 of our members ran it with only one locker, a 4" lift and 33s.

Oh and cell phones work up there now, they threw a tower up somewhere nearby...

you'll have a good time but 6 hours with rigs on 38s... No way. That is unless you have a club in front of you. This weekend underground jeeps is up there. they'll probably be at least 15 strong.

well i dont mind running it a couple times, its about a 2 hour drive home for us, so the plan is, that we wont break anything that will keep us from limping home

but since we are from ct, they wouldnt be mass registered and it seems like this may be an issue from what we're reading

The road is an unmaintained town road. No registration, No use. That goes for ALL vehicles.

Made it all the way.... Rear locker in a TJ. No tugs for anyone except 1 of our members blew his rear and had to snatchblock on one of the off camber spots after his rear blew and his locked 30 tipped him sideways after the 2nd obstacle...... there are some nice angles there....

Also, there is a mud pit a few minutes before the end that is somewhat deep where another locked rig needed a pull and I don't mean the POND which must be entered. No legal bypasses around the POND at the end. Stay to the center or the left of center, do not go right!!!:homer:

are there any signs on the trail that say DO NOT TRESSPASS or DO NOT CONTINUE? We just do not want to be going on the wrong area's.

DETAILS:
Old Florida Road is a discontinued town road in Adams, MA.
It features two challenging rock ledge obstacles, a sometimes deep but hard bottomed water crossing, and lots of large loose rock.

LIMITATIONS:
Open year round, please be considerate of other trail users.
Pleae try to limit runs to 2x per year.
Side trails and go-arounds are OFF limits.
Please Voluntarily post your scheduled dates.


NEA STATEMENT:
In keeping with our goals of minimizing our impact on the environment, we are instructing any members and asking all motorized users of Old Florida Road, that chose to travel the full length of the road, to only cross the water hole on the left side, where there is a hard bottom and to stay out of the re-vegetated area and the deeper water to the right when traveling in the direction of south (Adams) to north (Florida).

hey i live about 20 mins from O.F.R yes a full size will fit its not real long mile+ big watter hole at one end
