NJXOR @ NEW EGYPT SPEEDWAY NEW EGYPT NJ 2009!!!!

With a month away from the racing season starting there has been quite a few people in the area who have volunteered to help make this First season of the NJXOR a success. There have been a lot of people who have been waiting for something this exciting come to a place so close to home. For the first time in NJ racing history has a such Extreme Sport come to this state.

With little land here in NJ there is always room for some kind of motor sport race. In early Sept 2008 we had contacted some local area tracks and nothing turned up until we had talked to New Egypt Speedway in New Egypt NJ. When we had contacted the management and owners of the track they couldn’t say NO.

From there we had gone over a lot of ideas and everyone’s plans. We had decided to have a course on a 1/2 mile oval wit the being about ¾ mile running area after all the turns and obstacles. For the first like said before there has never been such and extreme race like this held in NJ. We are hoping for some new comers to enter this sport and make the Off-Road community a better place.

Working with NJ Racing Commission was the toughest times throughout planning this event around all the racing rules here in NJ. But with all the battling back and forth we had come to a decision with the rules and go from there.

After advertising this event at the 24th Len Sammons Motorsports show in Atlantic City I want to first thank Lou Levy (BRONCOLOU) and Doug Bigelow(BIGELOW MOTORSPORTS) for taking there time out of there busy schedule to help promote the new upcoming sport in NJ. Also want to throw out a special thanks to New Egypt Speedway for bringing this Off-Road Racing to the next level, Clayton Off-Road, OK 4WD, River Raider Off-Road, NJJA, Armenti Tax and Financial Services, PRP Racing Products, and last but not least by far Dean and Matt from 4lowdigital.com for event coverage and photos, for all the people who drove hours to come and check it out and talk to us, and also all the time and patience for the whole deal.

With our first event being in April there is a lot more to come out. Working on other plans for the future. Also to pronounce that our July 11th show will be under the lights!!!!! This will be exciting to racers, fans and also promoters to see something this extreme with the lights glowing throughout the course. Something different and unique.

Once again I want to thank all who is involved and helped to make this 2009 season happen.

I have been asked a few times if sticky's or competition compund tire are allowed?

Well to answer that yes reviing that rule on the post. The only catch is that the only class that are allowed to run the sticky's etc. is the UNLIMITED CLASS. STOCK is REQUIRED to run DOT tires.

Sorry for the confusio:)n

Can I get a link to the vehicle rules?

Want to make sure my buggy is meets the rules. It currently meets WEROCK's unlimited rules.

edit: I just read thru the NJ Motor Vehicle Racetrack rules and am not sure which grouping of rules to follow, but I do have some questions:

From the Oval Racing Requirements:
13:62-4.15 Fire Wall and flooring----what are the requirements for materials and thickness?
(b) All vehicles shall have a permanent fire wall between the fuel supply and the driver, unless the fuel tank consists of a shell with an inner rubber bladder in which the case the fire wall is not required. My fuel cell is maybe 2 gals and is a custom made aluminum tank that resides behind my seat. I guess this might be a problem

13:62-4.17 Fuel Tanks
6. Fuel tanks shall not be mounted within the driver's compartment. Damn,I just answered my own question. By the way, how long do you expect each race to last?

13:62-4.20 Batteries
Do dry cell/sealed batteries excempt us from this rule. My battery is on the floor pan in front of my seat.

From the Automobile Enduro Events:
13:62-10.12 Fuel Tanks
(f) a metal fire wall shall be installed between the fuel tank and the drivers compartment to afford the driver maximun protection. If i build a metal firewall to isolate the fuel cell from the drivers compartment does the entire firewall have to be metal. My buggy is a moonbuggy configuration and my firewall is metal on the lower half and lexan on the upper part so i can see out the back. Is this permissable?

13:62-10.19 Rollover Cage
From what I read thru most of the vehicle rules, cages are supposed to be constructed of 1 3/4" (.09 inch wall thickness). My buggy is constructed of 1.5" 1.20wall chromoly for the bulk of the tubing?

your situation, it is felt that approval for your event will enhance automotive racing in New
Jersey while not adversely affecting safety. It is advised that you review 13:62, Sub-chapter 2, as

shielded to prevent leakage in the event the line or pump is damaged or broken. This
shielding shall consist of steel braided material.
13. All other general rules pertaining to racing shall remain in effect.
A member of the Racing Control Unit will be present to monitor and evaluate your event in
reference to the manner it is conducted and for the overall safety of the participants. Please keep
in mind that Troopers assigned to monitor your event may impose restrictions in the interest of
public safety.

If you have any more questions let me know I would be glad to answer and I hope this answer your questions....

Doug if you want you can crash at my place (moms). Plenty of room to park(4arces) and extra rooms.

best part is it is all of 20 min from the race and 15 from any of the after parties, that is unless my place is the after party.

That sucks you will not be ready. Well I think the KOH RC run date kinda put everyone towards that with build ups. Gladd we have 25 baja competitors but I hope it dosent detour the owner to making just baja racing. Hope to see all who comes out and competes. I think its a great chance to test vehicle for KOH RC .
