great story jason.......just to add a little.....jason was first to sledge by a long shot but would not let us touch the rig after it went over.....the upper tube of the cage was hooked under a boulder so the winching just wasnt working.....i was trying to convince jason that we (the fans) could in fact right his rig but he didnt want to break the rules and kept telling me NO!!!! finally i grabbed his antenna and bent it up out of the dirt and "made" him call to clarify..........and the rest is history....we righted him just as the next rig showed up and he was off........

Awesome.

When Jason still had Tiny, I was given the opportunity to lend a hand one day doing some maintenance. Jason couldn't have been a nicer guy. I was treated like a guest, even when I got in the way. While He and Brian were talking about setting up the buggy, I kept putting in my 2cents here and there, and they always listened, even though I was sooo far behind the curve on what they were working on. Being able to work on one of the most well known competition buggies in rock sports is still a Major highlight for me, and I won't forget it.

congratulations to Jason & Jason.

Jason,

Great job! An amazing story of determination and focus. Long live the King!

Around 12:45pm during the race, I was cutting across the valley going to Sledge when I heard you were approaching the finish line. Evidently I was in the right place at the right time, and got a number of photos of you coming hot into Dave's final checkpoint just north of camp. I've posted a few of the best ones here:

http://www.stevebennettdesigns.com/KOH09/index.html

Let me know if you'd like any prints. I'll try to get some more images posted on this page in the next few days. I've got over 1200 photos that I took during the race, I'm sure I've got a few more of you.

Congrats again on the exciting WIN!

Awesome story! Encouraging read to, a lot of people think if you have to get out of the car you've allready lost the race. This shows you should always perservere and press forward as fast as you can given the circumstances your dealing with.
