56 GIG!!!!! of pictures

I've got the first 500. Excuse the hack job on the watermark, just trying to protect our photog's work.

He's out of town for the next week, but when he gets back, I'm sure he can hook anyone up with HiRes versions of his pics.

Let me know if any Ready Welder action was caught on film from anywhere.... Someone told me they saw some shots being taken when #17 used it at Sledge. No clue who got them though. Thanks for the eye in the sky!

So here's a funny story about the helicopter...

Robert and I were up on top of Fissure Mountain, manning the RT relay and doing a little video work. We got there at 7:30 in the morning, and were there all day. Breakfast, lunch and snacks were all eaten up there. Having eaten all that food, and not taking my morning dump, I knew there would come a time where I was going to have to let some out. I put it off as long as I possibly could, but it soon reached a level of urgency that I couldn't ignore. So I headed off to the east side of the peak, overlooking Aftershock and the top of Sunbonnet. I figured if I have to crap out in the middle of nowhere, I might as well have a nice view.

I found myself a nice smooth rock to lean against, dropped my pants and proceded to push out a giant soft serve cone for the snakes and lizards. Although I could see cars going by down on the trails, I was not worried about being spotted by them. Then I thought to myself "Self, with my luck, that damn helicopter is going to fly right over me now."

Sure as shit (lol,) there he was, making a low and slow pass directly over me. There wasn't much I could do, but laugh and wave.

I hope that footage doesn't make the dvd.

Any pics of tracy after his roll running around like a chicken with no head? He had two onboard cameras but they ran out before the high speed roll. He was hoping the helo caught a couple.

I have a picture of what looks like a Ready Welder dragging behind a car at mile 22. Probably not the kind of action you are looking for though.

A big group of the Rock Brawlers were heading toward Sledge on Thursday afternoon when the Helicopter flew right over us. We were in a big line of maybe 15 rigs coming up the road from the lake bed. It looked like he was filming at the time. Several people would be interested in a copy.:)

This isn't directed at the Brawlers, I can see what we can do. As far as teams go, if there is interest, we can work on putting some short vids tailored to specific teams.

Please understand though, the Helo with crew cost well over $1000/hour. Add that cost to the cost of editing and I hope you understand, I can't give that away.

$1000/hr??? Damn. Apparently, I need to get my helo license. Think I could weld from a helicopter??

You didn't miss anything here, but yes Rick M. #554 lost his BRAND NEW Ready Welder early on the course. He's thankful he didn't need it like other car's did...

PS - He's an avid user and believer, if no one coughs up the lost welder, I'll be sending a replacement to him with chain and a padlock to his door.

I'm glad you feel that way, but need to be clear, Pirate didn't make this race happen or the DVD. They did a great job covering it though.
