it seems like this would be a good idea, running aor's orbit eyes in the front and back of your leafs spring mount locations. but are there any disadvantages to this? how do you like this setup?
also ive heard people say these leaf packs from AOR are actually alcan's. is this true? so then you could just buy the aor orbit eyes and front hangers and order the leaf packs directly from alcan to your specs and the AOR eyes and front hangers will fit the leafs? thanks

I have mixed feelings about the orbit eyes...

I think they make shit way to sloppy....but maybe run em on shakle end only??

go ahead and get alcans from aor $$ wise won't matter much but service will...

alcan springs are the best IMO (everybit as good as national)
I can't belive allpro quit using them..I have road, drove and watched many different yotas with alcan VS allpro's new supplier and I can sure tell a difference....

maybe all the allpro ones aren't broken in yet cause this has been a new phenomenon??

anyways that is my 02

thanks Moab, ......are you saying to get the springs from aor? i thought the $ issue would be cheaper direct from alcan.
ive never dealt with aor before so i dont know their service but i can have the springs made to my specs from aclan as opposed to aor. the price i got from charles at alcan was 255.00 for each front pack and 285.00 ea for the extended 5" rears with 9" lift. this is for an 84 truck by the way. thanks

I run orbit eyes in my cruiser and I love them, and the service AOR has given me.

I second that, not sloppy at all with the eyes in the front and rear of the same spring. Work great and great bunch of guys to deal with. A little $$$ but you gotta pay to play sometimes.

alcan and AOR have an agrement and i dont think alcan can make the springs to fit orbit eyes without AOR~S PERMISSION

This is true... Alcan builds our springs, Alcan also can build Orbit springs for them selves to sale, BUT not for Toyotas. We do all of the Orbits for Toys. If you want Orbits for a Toy, and call Alcan, they will send you to me. It wooks out good, Alcan is a great company to work with!

OOOPPS I reread my post and I wasn't dissing allpro...I think both of these companies are top notch and all really know there stuff...

Just stating that I think aor picks a better spring supplier...

I have no idea on pricing guy, but will say as far as spring rate goes...Aor has tried and true waht to use call em..

they have tested toy's with exo-without-with toolboxes loaded - empty whatever you can think of.....

also - it seems like I am outvoted for the orbit eyes on both ends..I guess people like em.

hey Aor guy..you sell hte orbit eye mech for other apps? if so what is the tube size that would fit over it? I gotta idea

I looked at their web site and looked at the product at hand and don't see any way they would add "slop" other than thier willingness to twist. To me they would only add more feel when on the road becaue they don't flex fore and aft like a spring eye bushing does they only move when the spring twists but so does the normal bushing but this will do it in a more controlled manner. I know a few people that run the 44044 springs up front and the bushing in the frame gets eaten about every trip so this looks like a really cool product for them.
