I am staying at the Green Cove motel on the TN side and its full. Kevin (toploader) and them are camping, but not sure which campsite since it will probably be pretty crowded.
We figured we could meet at the pay station at a certain time. I'll let you pick the time since we can be there in about 10 minutes from where we will be and it will take you about an hour to get there from Murphy.

I think trying to run Tellico and go to Rattlerock is probably pushing it a little, but it's up to you guys. It's about a 2 1/2 hour drive further north on I-75. I try to explain it like this: It's like the bottom or rock garden section of lower 2 in Tellico only its bigger rocks and about a mile long. I can run it in 45 minutes to an hour on a good day.
I took a Humvee on 44s up it one time and it took him from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm that night (winchfest) and it was dry. But, he has the distinction of being the only Humvee to ever run it, thats what he was after.

The problem is I don't know how to get to that paystation by memory. Oh well I can follow the crowd. Why don't you PM me a cell phone or something so I can get a hold of you. For now let's say we'll meet you at the pay station around 9:00am Saturday.
If you're game to run "Rattlerock" on Sunday so are we. We can talk about it Saturday since the only thing that would suck is driving back to Tellico afterward to stay in the hotel. However, say 4 hours to run it, and we could be back at a decent hour.

You can ask any local over there how to get to Tellico. The road you get on is not far from the campground. It just turns into a gravel road which is actually Trail 1 and Trail 1 takes you right to the pay station. It takes about an hour, but if you hang the ass end out you can make it in about 45 minutes. A word of advice, air down when you get to the gravel, makes for a little smoother ride.
9:00 am sounds good, it's a date.

Pay station is at the State Line. From Murphy take trail one, (smart guys lead to avoid getting dusted) if you get to black top, you just passed it! From Green Cove follow paved the road till it gets to gravel. Stop and pay!
Have fun!

Have you been to the Green Mold lately? Man, it was NASTY when we were there... My friend's room had an infestation of ants the first night, and flying things the second night.
We were there about 2 months ago. I'd rather stay at the Tellico Cabins, or in Murphy.
