looking to park trailers on the eagle lake side. We don't want to make any trouble with the locals or be parked illegally. I read most of the Shinneyboo thread! and don't want to make waves. thanks for your help.

oh ya if any one has a snow report that would be great too. ( i know there is a ton of it )

thanks

Summer or winter? Either way, its best to park your tow rig and trailer at the campground at the Cisco Grove exit, 1 mile up the freeway.

In the winter there's virtually no place to park at the Eagle Lakes exit, and in the summer there is parking at the staging area, but break-ins are common.

I can tell you that there's no way in hell you're getting to the staging area with tow rig and trailer right now. Last time (before this last serious of storms) I was there I would guess 2-3 feet of packed snow on the road to the staging area.

As mentioned, park at Cisco, it's $5 a day and reasonably safe and secure. You can't go up Rattlesnake with a non tracked vehicle right now, but you can go back down to Eagle Lakes and hit Fordyce from there. Keep in mind you can't come out at Rattlesnake if you make it all the way thru to committee - but I HIGHLY doubt that will be an issue.
