Hitchhiking is illegal on limited access highways but that's about it. In the city almost nobody will give you a ride but in rural areas eventually someone will stop.
You'll have to tell us where you are going to answer your question about seeing the sights.
mudmandan 03-07-2009, 11:16 AM Just stay in BC,,Lots to see and LOTS of people hitch hike in BC,, you'll get picked up.
There is Nothing to see in Saskatchewan,,and Only indians hitch hike in Saskatchewan,,,,don't waste your time.
ShaunO 03-07-2009, 01:35 PM I agree. Not much to see in Saskatchewan. Get yourself a ladder, and you can see the whole province in 20 seconds!
BC is got some sweet terrain. Vancouver is a cool place to visit, but don't focus on it since there is way more to BC than that. I've hitched all over the place in BC (except in Vancouver) without issue. It always helps if you have a case of beer plainly visible to get picked up faster!
Don't forget your toque, eh!

i have no idea, i can just get to Saskatchewan and out of Vancouver for free so anywhere in between
i suppose i could get out of the car sooner then Saskatchewan
everythings in the air just looking for ideas
Jeepy1981cj 03-07-2009, 04:35 PM Back in the early 90's I helped my brother move from Ottawa to Vancouver. Loaded his junk into a u-haul trailer towed by a gutless Mazda b2200.
All through the prairies there was the same 2 guys hitchiking in every town we passed. Problem was we were driving steady and they beat us to every town!
I guess it does work. I finally talked to them and they were 2 brothers from New Zealand, started in BC and hitched across Canada and back!

well we all know canadians love americans so im in!
thats kinda my plan just hitch hike and end up where ever
i hitch hiked across italy and croatia so im not to scared to do it and it sounds safer then taking the bus in canada :flipoff2:
Topless Rubi 03-07-2009, 05:48 PM There is a good chance you will be turned back at the border when hitch hiking, a few people I know who wanted to travel that way across the states were turned back by the American customs officers and then Canadian customs who stopped them claiming walking on the road was illegal.

Where in Saskatchewan will your ride take you? At least if we have a starting point we can help you out.

well i know a chick who lives in Saskatoon who has really big boobies so i might hit up there and get a place to stay if she is in the country she might still be in germany
but i have no known destination that i will be dropped off at i can be anywhere i guess
BigDaddyChoice 03-07-2009, 06:16 PM well i know a chick who lives in Saskatoon who has really big boobies
NICE! That kind of incentive never hurts.
Check out Banff in Alberta and definitely visit British Columbia. Not too much going on in the prairies (Saskatchewan). If you decide to go east, northern Ontario and Quebec have the great outdoors and the Laurentian mountains, respectively.
the "when" makes a huge difference to "hitchhiking" mixed with "Prairies"
they get winter out there, not the slightly chilly kind either, they get the real thing.
oh and be very sure to tell everyone at the Vancouver Airport that you are not Polish.
apparently the RCMP is deadly afraid of Poles with staplers.
they dont even let them through Customs alive

dkxjois 03-09-2009, 11:35 AM It all depends on when you come up and how long you plan to stay. If its a party your looking for, or want really check out some cool stuff. If you want something to check out in Sask, go to Moosejaw and check out Al Capone's tunnels. Its how he bottlegged barrels of whiskey into the states.
Estevan Sask. has 5 or 6 HUGE draglines.
Another cool place would be Franks slide, in Frank BC. One night a whole town was buried alive when the mountian gave way. Theres a bunch of old abandoned mine shafts and stuff to explore. Summer time you gotta hit the Okanagon. Whistler BC if your into mountainbiking, I think you can rent a bike from the resorts there. Jump on the fairy at Van to go to the island. You can tour the island in like a day. Couple vinyards and stuff on the island.
Thats all I can think of right now.....Be careful in VAncover. Theres a huge gang war going on....20 people dead in 3 weeks. You might be mistaken for someone your not.
EHeye 03-09-2009, 11:38 AM Come wheeling with us in BC (Near vancouver) instead. If you hitchhike between the 10 minutes it takes me to get from my house to the trails, I will pick you up. But ya have to wear fake boobies so I can motor boat ya when ya jump in. :flipoff2:
bnine 03-09-2009, 03:08 PM well i know a chick who lives in Saskatoon who has really big boobies anywhere i guess
That covers about 80% of canadian girsl. Canada is the land of big boobies.
One advantage to living in Comminust Canuckistan.
Its the beef and milk supposedly :laughing:

As long as you have a current US passport you can get back. Although, if you meet enough large breasted Canuckdian women you may not want to :D
I should know, I married one :homer:
canfourjeep 04-01-2009, 12:17 PM More big butts here than anywhere else. Saskatchewan that is. A lot more to do in Edmonton or Calgary. Saskatoon is so prudish we do not even have topless bars anymore.
Radd Cruisers 04-01-2009, 06:44 PM Make it over to Whistler and the island.
Just north of Whistler are a pile of natural hot springs, lotsa nudies.
Back in the day I use to freakent them places....:flipoff2:
Pants 04-03-2009, 05:09 AM kind of back on topoc
West Ed mall is neat to see if your from a small place. Its bigger than the mall of Ameirca, at least I think it is.... i saw both within 3 months of each other and i cant really remeber.... ny way....
Vancouver is cool, but try to stay out of west van, not a good place to be lost in. bring beer money, so you can have some real beer.

West Van? bad to be lost with all the rich people?
Or are you thinking east van? If so East Vancouver is a little nasty with all hitchhikers coming in and getting hooked on drugs living on the street collecting welfare.
trkklr77 04-03-2009, 12:17 PM dont ride the bus and keep a close eye on your left foot.
BigHammer 04-09-2009, 11:01 AM Lots to see in every province. Sask has tons of really cool terrain, if you're prepared to go north and off-highway. The south is pretty flat and mostly farm land. Getting further north, Sask has some of the best lakes and rivers in Canada, amazing water falls, hiking, fishing, ATV trails. If you want to go wheeling, BC and AB would be better.
dont ride the bus and keep a close eye on your left foot.
Whomever said yuo can tour Vancouver Island in one day is smoking their socks.
spidr 04-12-2009, 10:53 AM dont ride the bus and keep a close eye on your left foot.
Fawk I needed a good laugh.
If you get the chance to check out the Island, you won't regret it. I came out 8 years ago and will never move away. The wheeling's awesome too.
Paul Gagnon 04-15-2009, 10:14 PM There are plenty of things to see in Saskatchewan, you just have to get off the highway.
