Bob Hazel here...

I do not normally spend time on Internet boards, but some friends had forwarded some of these threads to me and I wanted to respond to a few of them at least.

We organize 4x4, ATV and other rally type events. While doing 28 events this year, we have made some mistakes and will probably make a few more before the year's over.

The Net is a beautiful thing and we all love it. Information, easy communications, sharing it all...and damn fast too.

Please don't be so willing to castrate someone else unless you really do have the facts. Not emotional passed-along info.

A guy looked at a girl and made the comment out loud "She's pretty"... and a month later it was spouted on the Net that he'd raped her and sold her into white slavery...:)

I learned to have pretty thick skin. You have to when dealing with a lot of people.

If people are accused of something without the accusers having the real facts, it can become just plain senseless.

I appreciate all comments, both good and bad. And you don't have to hide behind a keyboard either. All grown-ups, right...or working towards it, anyway.

You really should make time to come here. There are over 13k members from all over the world. There are several other promoters that come here daily. And even more competitors come here as well. This forum can be an excellent tool for you to refine your events, and work towards making all parties happy. I love it when a promoter throws up a post asking about rules/regulations for their series. There was an excellent discussion about CalRocks vehicle requirements, and i belive BigRich really got some good info from people that will be competing in his series. If you are gonna make a change, ask this board how they will feel about that change before you do it. You will gain the respect of the people here, (clearly you don't have that at the moment) as well as promote your series, and enhance your events by pleasing the competitor's and spectator's.

If you don't make time to read this board, or use it to get closer to the people that you impact, then you are a fool.

BOB you are kidding with this right. I am suprised you have any people that are friends that would have anything to do with you. That diatribe of crap above will work for those who don't have first hand experience with you. BUt, I DO and I know all about your dealings here in Monteagle..If you think for second this bs is going to convince "those of us in know" about you ..well just keep on thinking that because as i said in my post in the other thread you are nothing more than a parasite/leach with the sole intention of benefiting yourself with monetary gain...AND I will be glad to tell anyone what type of leach your are until the day you are gone from this sport.Like I said in my post on the other thread BOB.Please stand up at anytime and give the world a rundown of all your GOOD deads and prove that the hell your catching is unjustified...

I AGREE 110% ...

This is what I told "Bob" @ Badlands this weekend.

1- I could take a Pinto, put a rollcage in it and win more money 2 miles from my house than I could here...
2- Nobody is at all interested in coming next year to these events because of this and his inability to listen and try to work with the competitors.
3-The course sucked!! someone thats owns something other than a daulie truck needs to set the courses up
4-The F.B.I. could not find the course let alone spectators (I could have swore I saw Asami Bin Laden in the crowd)
5- The scoring system sucks why not use the same one as everyone else for the benefit of spectators and comps. alike- his reply was"I like mine to be different"
6-Why is there no contingecy money available for us from the event sponsors other than BFG... ( hmmmm I saw yet another new 4x4 dualie there with pro rock on the fenders)

And last and certainly not least,

this direct Qoute that will go down in the history books

"I HAVE YET TO MAKE ANY MONEY DOING THESE EVENTS"

BULLSHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. HAts to Troy. A really cool place to go wheeling

So Bob, exaxtly what did you accomplish by posting here? That you are trying to convince someone that you have a friend?

Since you seem to think that everyone is out to get you and all this Bob bashing is unfounded, then why don't you use this opportunity to explain yourself. We don't care about "internet stories", this is not AOL. The people that get on here telling bullshit stories get weeded out pretty quick.

What part of what was said in previous posts was not fact? The only reason that you would need "thick skin" is because people talk bad about you quite often. If you were not out for yourself and you had a real interest in this sport other than your personal monetary gain, then you would not need to have thick skin. The people on this board are the competitors, and the spotters and the spectators. Without these, you have nothing. Do you see anybody else being bashed that is affiliated with any other rockcrawling event? Hell, no.

I think you should take this opportunity to explain yourself or do you feel that it is below you to explain yourself to the "little people".

Get off your pedestal pal or I would say your pedestal will collapse under you.

Oh yeah, Brian, AMEN. Obviously being a landowner in Monteagle you have had many dealings with Bob, so I guarantee that you got your facts firsthand.

Bob you P.O.S............
The first event I attended that you put on I chose to run the Creek Bed that was offered in monteagle tn back in 1999. We headed down the trail and the next thing I know we have about 3 shotguns pointed at us by some guys in a hunting cabin that said they never gave you permission to use their land and they were mad. Since you like to have got us killed by not clearing it with all the property owners when I got back to the smokehouse sat night I came looking for you , you P.O.S and guess what you had already left for another event. I couldnt even get my money back so rather that ride on your bullshit trails we went home.Just like shupe said , you also swore up and down that you made no money you are so full of shit I will never be back nor recommend anyone to run in your events ever:flipoff2: :flipoff2: :flipoff2:

Next.................

Someone, or several have commented that the posts are mostly (99.5%) negative. Someone that has no experience with the promoter or the events deduced the masses "hold water". The winner of the Trophy class drops a major "smackdown". The people have spoken.

The moral: The internet is a "powerful" place for all of us "friends and family" to hide behind our blood curdling keyboards.

Too bad you are NOT one of us! See ya Bob, stop whining, you had your chance to listen, it is now OFFICIALLY too late :flipoff2:

You're not being nailed to a cross. You're being pushed into the hole you dug for yourself.

Just like every other piece of correspondence I've seen from you, you have a whole lot to say, a whole lot of NOTHING.

Your best bet at this point is to pull out of the hobby/sport entirely, squander what money you have scammed from the masses and disappear into the Nevada desert before your actions catch up with you.

Not that I would be surprised if Bob were to judge one person by the opinions of other "associated" parties, but if he were to do something like that, then it only adds to his character. The quality of that character being dependent on an individual's opinion.

Let's not forget what the first amendment entitles all of us to. If Bob has a problem with that, then he can take it up with Uncle Sam.

Bob, in all seriousness, what we have here is a failure to live up to expectations. People expect certain things, and you've let them down. Not that we haven't all been there. But, the perception is that you haven't done enough to attone for that. Right or wrong, that's the perception. Right or wrong, it's now squarely on your shoulders to fix this image. Won't be easy. And some folks will never let go of a grudge. But, that doesn't mean it isn't worth consideration.

I'm glad to see Bob on here, and hope that either he or at least one of his staff can be a regular lurker/participater of the board. It at least provides him the resource to improve his image and make the event changes necessary to make them not only good for participants and spectators but also promoters and sponsors. Yes, it's obviously an uphill battle - but unfortunately, there are few other organizations taking on the task of promoting varied events throughout the U.S. Having events such as these not only provides an organized opportunity for those newbie wheelers but a good social opportunity for the balance of us.

Stick with it Bob...but pay attention. The people here are opinionated and many are experienced with events and their successes and failures. Like it or not, you can learn a lot here.

I think this is well said, SITR definatly needs to take a look at what people are sayin as they/after they walk away from an event or comp, It seems the same mistakes/mishaps are happening, and the money issue is crazy, do the math! they are payin alot to compete, and its not coming around. I have attended one Trail ride event, and one Comp(spectator :flipoff2: ) and I can only complain about the misordered plaques (sounds like a frequent happening) other than that I had a blast, but Im from Kansas and easily ammused, I hope that instead of SITR sayin fawk this, they work on makin the people they get paid by happy, business is business, but if you arent holdin up your end of the bargain, it gets personal quick. Itll be a shame if SITR doesnt listen to this and other boards, we are the people that keep you in the sport, get outta the loop and your fawked! Seems like ya might have sports in the rough already in the rough. What can you do to fix it?

Just my 2 cents, I've already mentioned this on this bbs before. After the women's competition last year at the Rock Garden near Aztec, NM we were left with a giant fricking mess. Trash by the tons, trees cut and torn down, and some bigtime damage control we had to do with the BLM. I'm really afraid of what things will be like after the Supercrawl in Oct. in Chokecherry.

I dont care what kind of crap you try to shovel on here. I know that you were not the only reason Fort Hood was closed. We had a stressed relationship that we were trying desperately to make better. You want to call it bad timing then fine. I call it "you showed up and managed to piss enough people off in a short time to throw all that work down the drain and to close the only decent wheeling spot in central texas." You didnt think that the military was going to take it kindly that you were going to scam them out of all of the camping money did you. But you didn't care as long as you got your money. The underlying theme to all of this seems to be that you only care about the cash and you dont give a damn who you use or in what shape you leave the area. That is why your are bad for the sport. Thats why you should be banned. You should just take that Catapillar yellow hunkl of shit and drive it off a cliff. That is about the only useful thing I can think of you doing. :rainbow: :rainbow: :nuke: :flipoff:

I want to clarify something in the event it is being mis interpreted.

No one begrudges you making $$ from the hard work of promoting events, Untill they get less than a fair return on their associated fees to participate. The potential profit is not the issue! Raking all the dough off the top, and putting on sub par events, only to do it again a few weeks later is the issue. I hope you could do both!

I've said all I have to say about BOB in the other posts, I think it's just a shame that someone who's operations are a sham can get the big time sponsors to help him in his misdeeds. Man could you imagine if EROCC had the national sponsorships of BFG or GOODYEAR, SUPERLIFT, SKYJACKER....I don't think we'd have to worry about BOB and his SITR/ProRocks events anymore. If any of you feel Mr. Hazel needs to repay his debt to the 4-wheeling community then send these threads over to his sponsors and see what they have to say about supporting a person like this. If his circuit gets striped of it's sponsors then no one will want to go, cause that's who is paying for Bob's way. Yeah, the " I never made a dime from this event" comment is total bullshit, he makes all the money and only uses volunteers to do the work. How is that non profit?......Well you are right Bob Hazel, most of us are adults and old enough to know a jackass when we see one. The sponsors are the real key, I think. However, what goes to the sponsors should be 100% factual and documented.

" I never made a dime from this event" - he's a candidate for sainthood. :flipoff2:

" I never made a dime from this event" - He must be indepently wealthy. Thanks for contrictuing to the sport.

"cause that's who [the sponsors] is paying for Bob's way" - seems like everyone; volunters, participants, spectators, etc. are paying his way also.
