ok so ive been searching and searching and cant seem to find my answer. im trying to figure out what ive got. for the engine i have the 2.7 3rz. i dont know what the tranny is i think its a w59, but i might be wrong. and i was also wondering what i would have to get to make ie 4wd. ive got a pass drop 60fr and getting 14blt rear.

You are going to need a tranny out of an older model 4runner, or a transfer case plate. the 96-02 models are driver drop so you will need a pre 95 t-case. New computer out of a 4wd and driveshafts to start

ok thats what i wasnt sure of what tranny to get, so something pre 95??

well there is that route, or you can get the tail shaft out of a 4wd tranny and then the adapter for the older style t-case, or clock a newer t-case. it just depends on what you want

The easy/cheap way, get at tranny and tcase from a 22re truck or 4runner. If you want something stronger, pick up one of the new 4cly Tacoma bellhousings or Marlins bellhousing for an R150F.
