That 4runner is sick, i have a 99 SAS taco on 40s with alot of the same stuff on it and i go places buggys go. Toyotas hold value really well and with 162,000 on it that anit shit on those motors. Its a good buy.
BTW those 3.4L v6 are t-belt motors not chain

Mine has the auto tranny and i beat the shit out of it along with towing a trailer with my quads and the occasional car with it and it just wont die if you keep the fluid maintained. I have gone throw 6 cv, a front dif, a detroit locker, and pulled over 8k pounds 45 mins with it and it just does not die. I have close to 200k on mine.

They seem to be as good as the rest. Only issue I have is leaky valve covers which a Toy tech told me he seen common and about the timing belt of this engine but good engines overall. Mines my DD so it's not as cut into as that one (don't like the exo, but that's just against my religion.):flipoff2: . I just put 1300mi (100mi offroad) on mine in a weekend http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=23813. Maybe eventually I'll let my trail rig and DD mate and have something like ErikB

Mines a 5 speed i love it but the autos are a good tranny, i worked a toyota for 3 years rairly saw problems with them. 3.4 motors are stout as hell i beat the sh@t out of mine and i cant blow it up.
As for Toyfamily valve cover gaskets are easy to replace no need to pay some one do it just pull the intake manifold and its all downhill from there.

We have 3, 3rd gen 4Runners, all automatics, 2 of the 3 are only daily drivers with well over 230K miles on each, and no issues at all with the tranny's, (or anything else for that matter) I do a spill and fill about every 3rd oil change on the trannys
the 3rd is my wheeler/DD and I installed a Hayden tranny cooler in front of the radiator and so far so good :smokin:
That Runner for sale looks like a good deal,,
