Yes, I know that this is a c-clip axle....but my intended purpose is not for off-road, but for 6-lug conversion into my daily driven pull truck. I searched but all I could find was one post that it might be 1.5 in. shafts and 35 spline. Can anyone confirm this? And what is the width wms to wms?
Thanks in advance,
Justin
I was probably the one who posted that I think it's 1.5" shafts and 35 spline, but I can't confirm this. I have no idea on wms to wms.
Really just want to say that if you convert this to 6 lug please post back here w/details and pics! I've always figured it would be possible to convert these to 5 on 5.5 or whatever, but have never actually seen it done.

I figure it shouldn't be too difficult to convert, especially if I keep the stock drums. A buddy has a d60 rear converted to 6 lug in his suburban with 35 spline 1.5 in. axles and disc brakes. So while a d60 housing is cheap, 35 spline side gears and custom shafts start to add up fast, so I got to thinking that if the semi floating 10.25's were 1.5 in. 35 spline to start with that the flanges and drums could be re-drilled to another pattern.
Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Well then call Lockrite 'cause they make a locker for this axle. They should know, and if they don't make them go get one from the warehouse or assembly line or whatever and measure it and count the splines :flipoff2:
Or contact this guy, he still hangs around the FTE forums from what I've seen:

His F-250 had the 10.25 SF and he swapped in a FF. And once you can confirm the specs report back here please!

to my knowledge all semi float 10.25s are 8-lug... why not dig up a semi-float GM 14bolt, 1.5" 35 spline axles, the ring gear is a bit smaller, but should be ok for a tow rig, & you can get them 6-lug stock

because they are not 1.5 in. 35 spline, they are 1.4 in. 33 spline, which I may end up doing, I'm just researching all the options first....I can have the semi-float flanges re-drilled to another pattern, so thats why I'm looking into the 10.25.....I just need to know the specs on them.
I will try to contact them tomarrow. Thanks for the replys.
