They have been over there for a week getting things ready. Big said the course is well under way and is excited about the location. I know they are working on the schedule and details but I don't have anythihing for you as I've been a lil busy for the last month. :dustin:

Glad to hear you'll be out for the event as you take some sick photos for sure!

You mean TUCSON...?

They are building the course down near the Drag-way... I believe it's the exit just before SIR.

Found this - http://www.pimamotorsportspark.com/

We are preparing our site for the National W.E Rock rock crawling event to be held on April 4th and 5th.

And there's a little map on the site, too.

I googled the fairgrounds, and found they have an RV park with hookups if anyone's interested. Link (http://www.pimacountyfair.com/Rental%20Info/new_rv_hookups.htm)

Anyone know where the closest hotel is or where tech is going to be?

We are staying at the Red Rooof Inn. The address is 3700 East Irvington rd. Tucson.
I called Rich and he said they were all about 10 miles from the park in the same area around the air port.

10-15 minute drive west(north bound) will put you in the location of many motels. There is a red roof inn with a waffle house in that area at about Palo Verde and I-10 and about 8 other motels right in that area. The only time I've seen them all sell out is for the gyms and mineral show. If something else is happening the weekend of the event and you don't have a room you might get stuck at motel 6.
If anybody needs any help with anything let me know.
There are nicer motels too. But this is decent and close.

I've never been there, but I hear most of the hotels are about 10 miles away near the airport. The Comfort Inn 520-295-4400 is offering $59 rooms if you tell them you are going to an event at the Pima County Fairgrounds. Online these rooms (2 queens plus sofa bed) are like $98. I'd imagine there will be restaurants nearby too. Sounds pretty reasonable, so I booked it.

There is also the Travel Inn about 5 miles away form Pima, but when I called the guy had terrible Engrish and there were screaming kids in the background. Sounded kinda scary. I hear there's not much else around it. Their price was around the same as the Comfort Inn.

I think "the" place to stay is the Red Roof... At least that's where we will be! :D

The Red Roof Inn is a rather nice non cockroach infested place. Just for note they charge for Wi-Fi in the non King Size Bed Rooms and they have a Denny's on the premises.

Just for note the Travel Inn is the closest to the track. It doesn't appear scary, but then again neither did the Bates Motel.:flipoff2::laughing: There is an A&W Burgers and a Quiznos somewhat close to the track, but the better places are nearest to the Red Roof Inn. Just remember that if you have never been to Tucson, everything is set somewhat away from the freeway. Be prepared to go adventure into Tucson for some dang good eats, and a decent bar scene. Hope that helps.

Come on, us at W.E.Rock are always thinking about our competitors. :D

Plus if Denny's ain't your thing then there is a Waffle House like almost across the street.

For all you out of towners the night life spots in Tucson are downtown 4thAv and congress area, or at the UofA area near Euclid and University. I am guessing about 10 miles from the red roof inn.

Shhhhh.... you are going to ruin my plan.

I'm going to gain sponsorship in the US and then release all my Post Event Press Releases in Canadian. That way I don't technically need to have a car.

I'm still bummed, if it wasn't for that cone on the last course, I would have made the shoot out at Tucson. Congrats to Shannon on his first Pro Mod win! Great car and great courses as usual Rich. See you at Cedar City.:flipoff2:
