I have a 77 CJ with Currie ( ford explorer) disc's in the rear and stock in the front with a stock non/assist master and stock porp. valve. Its always stoped fine. Sure, not great with 35's and no assist but works. So I just re-did the front brakes ( had a caliper go bad) and when bleeding the brakes I noticed the Porp. valve leaking ( has a weird little port that looks like a zert- fitting ball?). So my question is: replace it with a stock or should I be running something else? I have seen the external adjustable blocks that go after the valve to adjust the rear but still require the main valve. I also remember hearing something about taking the valve out with power assist and 4/whl disc's? Any advice woud be great. I dont mind buying a new one but just want it to be right.

If the porp. valve is leaking I would replace it. Go with a disc/disc one, I got mine from SoCal for like 60 bucks, I think Inline Tube sells them also

That little zert should be depressed when bleeding the brakes. My service manual shows a special tools used to depress it. I usally just use a c- clamp to depress it.

If its leaking there I would replace it.

Thanks guys,
I noticed that in my manual also (after I bled them) so I thought maybe I F'ed it up because I didn't depress it? I will try to hunt down a disc/disc version.
