We just put a new Tera constant radius Dana 60 in the back of Mike's rig:

Also had the rig powder coated red. She will look nice and snazzy for the RCAA finals!

EDIT!!!!
I forgot to metion to everyone, that this is a PROTOTYPE rear end. This diff isn't available to the public yet, so please do not call Tera asking to buy one yet. ;)

so how is the clearance on that axle compared to the d44 he used to run?

how about the wieght difference?

did he ever have any problems running the 44 he used to run?

just curious.

Don't know about the clearance yet. I'd say it's fairly close. It weighs in under 250lbs. :cool2:

Yes, we were having problems with breaking axle shafts. Because his rear end is offset, we were not able to get good quality alloy shafts. So we stepped up to 35 spline stuff. ;)

Hard to beat the clearance from a diff. like that! :flipoff2:
Looks great. The best place to get touch up paint is from the people who made the powder coating. For me it was Cardinal.
I tried an auto paint store, it was a disaster!

Yeah he has to redo his gas tank mount because of the new rear end.... So he is gonna need some sort of touch up paint right off the bat!

How does that compare with the D44 he had before ? I'd think pretty close ...

Sorry if this is a dumb questoon but what does the "constant radius" mean? I understand what constant radius MEANS, just not how it aplys to the description of an axle.

Thanks

Terra is rotating the cover so it does not point down when the axle is rotated pinion up. The bottom of the chunk is rounded so the clearance is the same when the pinion is straight (90*) or pointed up

fyi & fwiw, I have seen a couple tera50's that would NEVER get a perfect gear pattern- attempted by multiple gear guru's. I believe the pinion isn't EXACTLY 90* to the ring.

Wow, so he was breaking 30 spline shafts with that little Sami t-case.. :)

Is he staying with the D44 up front? Alloys and CTMs?

Could not get alloy shafts for offset D44????? Moser will make any lenght you want... Don't like them, or just want' the new D60 ;) ?

Actually, good info to have...Did they call Tera about it?

They denied it (a defective housing) as a possibility.

Yep, you're right. We had one in the rig before the 60. Broke the R&P, and a moser axle in one competition (Cedar City). Sent it back, and got the 60. It's got a perfect pattern.

okcrawler - we broke a new rear 44 Moser axle on our first run with it. :nuke: He is still running the D44 up front with Warns and CTM. No problems with that setup...

Lance, He going to put the crd 50 center that was in the back in the nose now?

No. It was sent back to Tera. We will run our current front end for the rest of the season. Then it will depend on the new rules for next year on what we run up front. Rumor has it there will be a 2800 minimum weight. We are at 2750, so a D60 front may fit the bill nicely. ;)

Shupee and Troy (Badlands owner) had about 10 guys convinced that shupee's rig weighed 2400 lbs this past weekend. They were crawling all over it trying to figure out how

2,800lbs still isn't a lot of heft. I'd think the min would be less, assuming they put one in place. Bowing to the "whiny bitches" never does anything good for the sport.

I heard from a very reliable source that Mike and Lance were saying that when they got their 2nd place trophy at ARCA next month they at least wanted to look good with some new paint.
Where on the internet can I find the rules for ARCA(or rcaa or whatever)

Seriously Lance, good to hear you got rid of that pansy Tera50 back there. I know that if you hadn't broken it at CC, you would have been in 1st when the dust settled.

If it is who I know it is ;) then I also heard rumor that they are working on a full tube chassied ride aka lightweight.

Hate to see a limit, drives down the need or the need to design strong, lightweight componants that we all like to see.

Lance you got yourself a sweet axle maybe now an axleshaft won't cost you the comp next time. On a brighter side think of how badass you'd be if you broke that fawker I'd hate and love to see that.:D What did you lock the axle with a spool?

When will these be available and anyone have a guess on the price? Are they the same as the Dyna Housing as far as oiling/warranty? Dyna told me they would not warranty the dif unless they set up the entire axle themselves and put their "secret dual sump oiling modification" on it. :flipoff2: that.
