: stock sami t-case TBI 350 will it last rattlecan78 03-11-2009, 05:25 AM I'm building an 88 tintop I've got scout dana 44's,TBI 350,SM420 so far,my question is will the stock case last or should I find a dana 300 or something else. I can get a divorced 205 for real cheap but I hate to use something that big,however if the sami case is just gonna explode what other option do I have? any help would be appreciated. jim henderson 03-11-2009, 05:36 AM i don,t believe it will last very long a all. the weight, power i think will be to much for the t/case to handle. i would go with a d300. or go with a track 2.0 sami trans and transfer case. light good power:D Jy Dog 03-11-2009, 05:47 AM I run a warmed over 5.0 out of a 88 mustang in my 87 soft top. I have a d300 bolted up and have had good luck with it for the last 4 1/2 years. A 205 will also fit between the frame rails. If you want to do any abusive wheeling, at all, the sami t-case will be short lived. Mope 03-11-2009, 07:19 AM I agree with the above. I've heard of them breaking with the 4 bangers. I have a buddy with a 4.3 in his samurai with the 203/d300....The trans tunnel had to be cut and re-done, even with a 2" body lift....But the body lift made it workable. cajunsuzukispider 03-12-2009, 03:52 PM let's see, v8 infront, big tires behind, a puny sammy t-case in the middle? . you sir, are the weakest link!
