I have an S10 that is currently residing on YJ axles, I have just purchased a D60 rear and a HP D44 from a ford, The front is drum brakes however, I have read about swappin chevy knuckles on to the ford D44, what do I need to look for? mine is a 5 lug and I want it to be 8 like the D60 I have, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure about an S-10 or how you would mate it up, but the knuckles off the D44 are interchangeable. Not sure if you can go 8 lug.
Go to www.classicbroncos.com go to the webmap and find your way to the front disk brake section. There are a number of write ups on putting disks on a 44. THere is a chevy conversion which is spindles and backing plates then a knuckles out conversion using all ford parts.

You will need new dana 44 ball joints. And new brake lines. I dont think the brake flanges from a jeep will fit 3/4 ton chevy. You will need a dana 44 wheel bearing retainer nut socket. Bearing grease, and a custom tierod and drag link. The chevy knuckles are located diffrently than the ford. The chevy tierod will be too long, and the ford will too short.
Everything else is simply unbolting the chevy stuff and ford stuff and swaping axles. No biggie.
