Does anyone here have a link to the amounts the individual counties of California have received through the OHV "in-lieu-of" process?
That information is wanted in conjunction with comments for the OHV Grants program.
Thanks

Bruce, I know the Division has this information, but I'm not sure it is online. Maybe ask for it Friday?
Agreed that this makes sense to consider in the context of grant proposals...

I assume you mean this:
"Currently $4 of the green/red sticker fee goes to counties in lieu of property taxes. Applicants, if a city or county, will now be required to disclose how those fees collected by the counties are being used and whether the use of these fees complements the applicant’s project."
Only in the Law Enforcement application form does this appear:
"COUNTIES ONLY - Describe how the OHV in-lieu of tax funds are being used and whether the use of these fees complements the Applicant’s project:"
There are the 29 responses - I already have them separated out if you would like me to post them.

I came across one of the county sheriffs offices that said that they received no in-lieu-of funds and wanted FACTS to counter that.

Some of the answers are a bit vague but most appear to have understood the question.
Agency: Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department
Application: Law Enforcement
COUNTIES ONLY - Describe how the OHV in-lieu of tax funds are being used and whether the use of these fees complements the Applicant’s project:
The Sheriff's Department does not receive any in-lieu funds for our OHV program. All of the department's OHV patrol and equipment expenses are funded through the Sheriffs Department general budget.
Agency: Trinity County Sheriff's Department
Application: Law Enforcement
COUNTIES ONLY - Describe how the OHV in-lieu of tax funds are being used and whether the use of these fees complements the Applicant’s project:
Not Applicable - No OHV in-lieu of tax funds.
I like Inyo's answer - we should give them more money to "minimally enforce".
Agency: Inyo County Sheriff's Department
Application: Law Enforcement
COUNTIES ONLY - Describe how the OHV in-lieu of tax funds are being used and whether the use of these fees complements the Applicant’s project:
Used to supplement a non-formal program to minimally enforce off road vehicles.

Don't know how up to date this is, but it should give an idea of any claims about past funds, if you need any more info I'd say call the office it came from...TJ
