i know this has been discussed before but i didnt find much info in the search.

now that my jeep is temp. out of the garage im looking at cleaning the place up and rearanging some stuff.

i have a concrete floor that has seen alot of different junk spilled on it. whats good to clean that up. ive been pretty good about using oil dry but your still left with spots and dark areas. i thought someone mentioned tide at some point but i dont remember.

its a 4 car garage w/ 2 big bay doors, im planning on moving everything to one end and cleaning the bad side first then moving in the new cabinets and such i just picked up.

i have some heavy bristle brooms and what not. i was hoping for something i can just pour on the floor and scrub a lilttle bit then spray off with a hose. i know its wishfull thinking but oh wel. i dont want to use muaric acid or whatever its called because unless i pull some money out of my ass i cant coat the floor right now.

well any suggestions? i was oddly enough thinking about tranny fluid i think that will work but im not sure it has a detergent in it. and i don tthink its ever left any marks on the ground. i could be wrong i have too many marks heheh

thanks

I bought the Behr driveway cleaner from Home Depot. It's like a heavy duty 409 or something. 2 gals and a hard bristle brush cleaned my whole garage floor and it had 25 yr old caked on oil drippings.

The scrubbing took some effort but if I poured the stuff out and spread it all around with the scrub brush and waited bit before starting scrubbing it didn't take much effort. If the stains were really stubborn i'd scrub then re-soak it with cleaner/wait/then scrub/repeat/etc ...

I was preparing to paint it so I never thought it would come clean but surprisingly it came very clean.

good luck.

To get out some of the deep oil spots try mixing fireplace ash and water to make a watery mud and goop it on the stains.
Then just sweep the dry ash away the next day.
Try it!;)

You can also try kitty litter!

Rub it with your feet....and then sweep up.

Kitty litter is good for when the oil is still there and to soak it up. But for stains, it does nothing.
