I need to know if a 2wd trans can be used for a 4wd trans????? Can't you just pull the 4 bolts on the tail and slide it off and through my mounting plate for my 203 t-case on it and put it all back in. Or is there more to it then I think???????

there are two different output shafts, 2wd and 4wd. the 2wd is longer than the others. it will not work. call your local tranny shop and ask for a short four wheel drive output shaft.

you will have do swap tailshafts to convert to 4x4. this requires complete disassembly (minus vavle body). not too hard though. can do it in less than an hour if the trannie is already out. get a book or good manual too.

And make sure the area you work in is CLEAN...Auto trannies aren't too forgiving with dirt!:skull:

a 4x4 output shaft is cheaper... and i know a guy who will change mine for 75 bucks including gaskets.
