DOH!! How'd you like to lose your footing and land right on that bar??!? Falling on a 10-speed bike never sounded so good!!

Ya know Whizzy, it would be cool if the tire mount was hinged and the "door" bars also. Now that would be trick!!

Do you know this chick? Is she really going to flop it that much? Sh!t - I'd be more concerned about climbing in and out of the thing and how easy it is to get to my gear. Its the little things that piss me off so after about 5 times of climbing in and out of that web of tube I'd be really bummed that I blew a bunch of cash to get that bulit the wrong way! Not saying you're brother didn't do a kick ass job - just saying she should go back to the drawing board!!

PS - at least we think with the right head!! :flipoff2:

Also think the crossbars in the door openings was a bad idea, but really nice work on the cage...

Basically she gave him some ideas and for those side bars she showed him a pic from JP magazine and wanted it so there it lays.
I dont think that she is going to be flopping it. But she says that she will. She wants to do next years easter jeep safari.

Those side bars are real rib busters in a hard rollover,..trust me I know, mine are just now feeling 100% after my Carnage for the Con Rollover.

Awsome cage fabrication though.

WTF is up with that door bar? Sometimes you have to tell the Customer that there are better ways of doing things.

Yeah true that.
I think that he did, but she is very happy with the end result and got what she had wanted.

I hope that she uses it.

And as for the 35X16" boggers on D35..........well

Let me pose a question about the door bars, I run solid high mounted bars on my truck, how many times have you seen a 3' rock come in through a door opening? I've watched them destroy some pretty impressive looking swing out doors, I've also watched them crawl inside the truck with the occupants. in a hard roll sure you may suffer some personal damage from them if you don't pad them and you flop on them in a roll but your not getting smashed (severly injured or worse) when those objects come through the opening. I'll take the hassle of climbing over the bars for a trade off in peice of mind. I've got bars in my cage that I don't need for structure that make for massive over kill, but I have peice of mind and that means more to me. So if that makes her more comfortable about wheelin her jeep, more power to her!

This is how my old cage was set up, on my new one the bar is straighter and higher in the front

Like I mentioned in post above, those bars are serious rib busters, in the event of a hard rollover. So using them while your wheeling is excactly where they are most likely to hurt ya. I would remove them all together.

If it is too much trouble, she doesn't have to thrown on a thong. :p
