Already posted in the wanted section, but not alot of people check in there.
Looking for a FJ in Alaska, 68 or older. But I'm not too picky, I need a good project for the winter months. I know there are a few dudes that check in here time to time that live in Alaska, so I thought I would ask and see. Thanks!

Talked to Mark Whatley yet? He usually knows of a couple, heck, I know he has a bunch of older ones sitting in his lot that could probably be good projects!

907-373-3789. He's in Wasilla. Good guy to talk to before buying a rig anyway, he knows which ones are crap and which ones aren't!

Side note, spotted a heck of an interesting rig in Anchorage the other day. Bright reddish/orange FJ45 wagon chopped behind the front doors with an aluminum pickup bed on it. Very clean job, but too bad it had to be done to such a clean wagon:(

Do you happen to know the address of Mark's shop?:skull:

Physical address? Nope, sorry. Do you need directions? PM me if you do. I know how to get there, but I don't know the address!

Ok, duh, just remembered he probably wants people to know the address. I feel stupid now

Go north on the Glenn until you get to the Parks Highway. Turn left at the parks, and go until you get to the intersection where Fred Meyer and the Cottenwood Creek Mall are. Turn right onto the Palmer-Wasilla highway (I think that's what it's named), go around a couple of curves, cross Cottenwood Creek, and take the first right after the creek. It's a little dirt road, if you see a gas station on the right or reach an intersection you've passed it. On that dirt road, just keep right, and you will see his shop on the right. Hard to miss, there's a yard bunch of parts cruisers fenced in. I don't suggest you jump the fence, only one of the dogs is friendly!:D

The building he's in has 2 shops, he's the one on the right as you're facing the building. The one on the left is a welding shop, I think. It will be part of Cruisers Only soon enough, though, from what I've heard:)

I suggest you call ahead before making the trip...I've made that mistake before..."Hey Mark, are you going to be stopping by the shop tonight?"
"I'm in Anchorage, I was just going to drop the carburator off at your house"

DOH!!!

He is there today, though:)

Went by his shop on sunday, after visiting the State Fair. He's got some cool toys! No leads on a cruzer though, the search continues! Can't wait to see his cruzer with the rockwells and 49's under it!!!:skull:

Cool toys he does have!

Hm, I must have just missed you, I dropped my rig off on Sunday morning...It was the front one in the row of 2 white ones next to the overhead door.

He gave you all of the standard warnings about buying a cruiser up here, right? When I was in there, a kid stopped by that had just bought a "Dave Special" as they're called...Kinda felt sorry for him:(

Actually, looking back over your post, you said you wanted a project...There's a 40 down the road from me, probably a 68 to 73, rotting in a guy's yard. I know he was looking to get rid of it for about 200 bucks, if you're looking for a project it looks like it would fit the bill. From what I hear it basically needs new everything, but it looks liek it could be patched together again, esp if you're not one to go for all the stock parts and such.

If you want, I might knock on his door for ya or something...I'm in Elim right now, but I can when I get back...

Man, I don't know how I missed this post, must have been asleep at the wheel.
Sent you a PM Dragoneater. I would appriciate you checking out the 40 down from your house.
I've looked at a couple of cruisers, but they were over priced or full of bondo. I not sure on the guys name that was selling one of them, but I think it was Dave. If this was the guy he said the body had a little rust in the rear. I went to look at it and it had bondo on 50% of the body. The look still continues!:skull:

Thanks for lookin Green73.
I'll have to pass on the patrol, those things are extremely hard to find parts for.
I think I might have found a project cruiser, but the guy that has it is out of town. Hopefully next weekend I'll have a new toy to work on. It looks promising!:skull:

Hey, sorry I haven't had the chance yet to ask about that cruiser, I've been getting home around 10:30-11:45pm every night this week...I might have the chance today to ask about it, though!

No problem! It seems that work always gets in the way of fun...I need to win the lotto!
Hopefully I scored with a cruiser, I will find out next tuesday. I never hold my breath until I actually have title in hand, too many deals have fallen through.
If you get the chance to ask the guy about the Cruiser I would appriciate it, Last cruiser I put together I had to use two to get one good one. Never hurts to have a lot a spare parts, or even two or three cruisers.:skull:
