i just picked up a 83nissan pickup 2wd for a parts hauler. and i have a problem with charging. the motor is a z motor, 8 plug, 4 cyl. there are 5 wires on the alt. (located on the clip) is a big wire and a small wire.the one wire that is giving me a problem is the smaller white wire with blue strip, located on the clip, it has been cut for some reason. any ways when you touch that wire to + stars charging, touch it to - it stops. i think the regulator is missing
can someone shed some light on this

go to the junk yard and cut the old existing wires/pigtail and splice it in, if possible. also make sure to butt connect it all and wrap nice and tight!, as long as you haven't done any mods to it, it should help. :smokin::homer:
