: Finally got pics of my scrambler
TNScrambler 08-28-2002, 09:35 PM These were taken shortly after completion (well, never really done, but wheelable again). Now the front wheelwells have been opened up and I put in hood vents.

I've already opened up the front wheelwells, how much do yall think I should cut out of the rear?
Justin
Slagburn 08-28-2002, 10:27 PM Sweet- ya gonna ditch the flares, or wait until they ditch themselves?
I will have to point out your pics to a buddy I am trying to convince his CJ-8 needs 42's.
TNScrambler 08-28-2002, 10:34 PM the front flares are already gone....well the passenger side is hanging on the wall in my garage still attached to part of the fender. the other got cut in half with the plasma cutter. The rear flares are still on, but are flappin in the wind and only attached by the front half...I'm thinking of leaving the front half of therear flares and cutting the rest off and enlarging the wheelwell on back, because the tires don't rub the front of the rear fenders.
I love the 42's there is soo much stuff I can just idle over now that I had to drive around or gas over before.

Jason R 08-28-2002, 10:35 PM nice poser pics newbie. Dig the lights on top of the hood. :flipoff2:
CJ5-Man 08-28-2002, 10:48 PM whats up with the box tubing lined up for your outboards? looks interesting
Sillyneck 08-28-2002, 10:56 PM looks cool :D
thenodnarb 08-28-2002, 11:01 PM  that thing is friggin awsome! 3 questions:
1. whats with the shackles, are they adjustable?
2. what springs are you running
3. how wide are those 42's?
i'll do a lil research to see if theres any info on those things already. take care man, that looks sweet.
TNScrambler 08-28-2002, 11:13 PM whats up with the box tubing lined up for your outboards? looks interesting
its what we had laying around the shop, its 2"x2" heavy wall box welded together as you see in a "L" shape, and they are 6" long. If I have anyproblems with them I'll brace them with some tri-angle type braces.
1. whats with the shackles, are they adjustable?
They are ultra expensive anodized air conditioner hanger brackets....$.49 a plate.....$.98 a shackle.....$1.96 for the pair. But, just incase they fail I always carry spare bolts and my old set of con-fer shackles. (which are a little too long and push the pinion angle down, but ok for spares)
2. what springs are you running
They are 3.5 in. BDS YJ front springs and 4in. BDS CJ rear springs
3. how wide are those 42's?
they are 42x15.5x15 mounted on 15X10's with 3in. backspacing
10-4,
Justin

Jayrockn7 08-30-2002, 12:00 AM Hey it's Jeremy here, did you ever get the 360 running right? what about your CJ-7, Sean McLeod told me you were thinking about selling it, how much $$$? I'm going to try and ride with Sean up at Windrock this Sat. but who knows, hope to see you there, later. PS- I'm no longer a Sears employee either:D
Mayhem 08-30-2002, 06:33 AM At least you did not use the ramp when Smith was around :flipoff2: :flipoff2: Nice Jeep by the way :D
coiledcj7 08-30-2002, 07:27 AM nice jeep, but you'll get way more droop in the rear if you toss on a 3/4 liptic.
KAcrawler 09-01-2002, 07:56 PM i say take the front fenders off, ill put up some pics of mine it is sweet
Jeepmangled87 09-01-2002, 09:48 PM what springs do you run on that rig??

come awn....just read the post and you will see....:flipoff2: :flipoff2:
JS-Economos 09-02-2002, 09:20 AM Very nice. I'd say you need to hack some flat-fenders on the front of that rig and add some TJ flares on the rear, or hell, just bob the rear all together.:flipoff2:
Jason R 09-02-2002, 09:31 AM Someone needs to hack some fenders off right quick (before the tires do it for you). :D

It needs a new front timing cover and some head work....I've got a good running 304 in it now. Give me a call at 414-4576 on the cj-7

the front as already been enlargned alot (after pictures taken). and I cut the rear where needed as much as I could....more and it would cut into the inside of the tub. I'll try to get some more pictures soon.

HAHAHAHA....smith let me take a body off a '79 cherokee and shorten the frame in class when I was a student ( along with various other crazy projects in class)....and just last fall he let me use the bridgeport to work on a steering arm, even though I'm no longer a student....speaking of Smith I need to go see him. When were you a student there?
