Hi,
I am Christian from Austria. My car is a 2002 Suzuki Jimny. It comes with coil suspension directly from the dealer. After some street legal modifications I decided to get into the real fun and started some cutting here and there, changed the t-case to a sammy 6,5:1 one and reached the suspensions limit.
So, here is my car:

At the moment it looks like a piece of crap, but hey, it works.

The first few years this car was equipped with the G13BB engine. A G13B with 16V - simplified. Later on it came with the M13A. I do not know anything about M13A ;)

I believe that the later M13A engine is a 1.3 liter version of the DOHC 2.0 liter engine found in the US Vitara/Tracker.
I believe that they came out in 2002. I had a little discussion with the local German Suzuki dealer about it when I was stationed in Germany.

I'd love to have one of those. I've got 3 samurai's and one x-90. The Jimny is a more modern version of the samurai.

Hi,
@Suzuki Simon:
Thank you for posting the pics.
I do not have any technical pics from this little rig up to now. The suspension and bodylift modification has been done by a garage. I only did the t-case swaps from original to sammy 4,16:1 and later on to 6,5:1.
I will post interior pics next week.
The Jimny is the sucessor of the Suzuki Samurai.
The major changes are:
- coil spring suspension with panhard rods
- t-case with planetary gears and chains
- front axle is more light duty as a sammys axle
- babyface look compared to a samurai :D
I decided to change the suspension, do a 60 mm bodylift and use 30" tires. This is the maximum that is able to be street legal overhere in Austria.
Suspension:
OME 2" lift. My mech had some kits from Suzuki Vitara and Suzuki Jimny as well and mixed a good setup for me. After removing the stabilizer I gained lots more articulation in the front (compared to articulation with the stabilizer).
Bodylift:
60 mm (2" and a finger :) ) alloy. Round material, 50 mm (2") diameter.
T-Case:
Samurai t-case. I bought the swap kit from DGtuning in Belgium as well as the 4,16:1 gears. Last spring I bought the 6,5:1 gear set from Low Range Offroad. From now on my Jimny was off the street - 6,5:1 and 30" wheels is way too short ....

Hi.
Nice bumper you had back in 2006, is it custom made or is it made by some brand??

the new maruti samurais come with a 1.3L DOHC engine... puts out about the same power as the 1.6L SOHC 16 valve FI engine that the sidekicks come with.
You sure changed the look of that rig... :smokin:
