Strange noise coming from t-case or tranny [Archive]

So when I parked my 40 before I went on deployment I had a clunking noise coming from the drive train... When I push in the clutch the noise stops as I increase speed the sound matches the RPM if that makes any since... I am not a mechanic so I have no idea what the hell it would be. I have heard everything from a throw out bearing to a chipped tooth on in the t-case. Any knowledge on this will help. I plan on taking into the local of road shop as so as I get back Brutal Off-Road in Lake Hills Texas. I would just like to have a starting point for them. Thanks Jonny

The set up if it matters is a 383 to sm420 to AA adapter to stock toy t-case

If it still has the original drum parking brake on the rear output of the t-case- that's where I'd start looking.
