This question would probably work for anyone looking to get a manual tranny from a junk yard.

Is there anything that one should look for?

Is there anyway to tell if the internal parts for the tranny are in working order?

Anything that someone should avoid when looking for a junk yard tranny?

And the last one, Where and how is the M5OD marked for identification? and where is the identification located?

Once I find the location I will take a few pics and post them up. Hoping to help the next guy!

Pretty damn easy to spot them. Much skinnier than the ZF

If you are running a V8, why not use the ZF?

He is correct!

If I can find one at the local Junk Yard, they go for $75. Whats the cost of a rebuild kit, and is that something a guy with pretty good wrenching skills could do?
