Like the title says, I'm looking to SAS my T100 and have a friend with a 3/4 ton Chevy Dana 44 and was wondering if it could be converted to 6 lug by swapping out just from the hub out or what would I need? Thanks

You'll have to swap backing plates out. AND more than likely the spindle since it is a DANA 3/4 ton.

not always, dana used both size spindles on the 3/4t.

your best bet is offer the 8 lug stuff up for trade, there are tons of people that want to swap the other way.

you need backing plates & rotors. I have both, I'm in Roseville, Ca.

Another thought/question........If what I've read is correct, Chevy 8-lug knuckles are only flat top on the drivers side (couldn't get a look at pass. side because it was buried by other parts). If that's the case will I be able to use some other paired flattops when I do the 6-lug swap?

The knuckles could go either way depending on the year of the axle. 6 lug swap should not need a knuckle swap unless you are looking at high steer at the same time

all chevy d44 up to 76 are flat top on the pside, all d44 and 10b dside are flatop and that is the stock steering arm setup, not to the tierod like ford and jeeps.

Went back up and looked at it this weekend, pass. side is not flat top, so I guess I can assume it's post '76. At this point I'm kind of torn whether to pick it up and change from the knuckles out or just wait and seek out a flat top six-lug. There are a couple 14 bolt rears in the pile as well. I guess I could always buy new rims/tires and just go 8-lug all around.:D

^^^For the winning idea!

That's what I would do if you wheel at all, it just makes more sense in the long run.

Especially with the 14 bolt full floater rear. They are very thick and hard to break. You could always sell your tires and wheels in the for sale section of this board to help with the cost of the new 8 lug junk.

Of course flat top knuckles are also cheap and easy to find. When you do the 6 lug swap, the only extra work is un-bolting the ball joints and swapping the knuckle.
