: how much MIG for knuckle welding ?

is my Hobart 175 enough mig to weld my D44 knuckles back on or should I take my junk over and use my buddies ESAB 250 ?

ok. thanks ... just wasn't sure my 175 could get as much penetration as the factory welds were. those were perhaps the deepest welds I've personally seen ...

Welding the C back on the tubing? The 175 will not give you the weld it had from the factory but I doubt they will fall off. I sat go to your friends and do it with the 250 if you want any penitration at all. The 175 will melt the wire in there but wont weld the 2 together properly.

I agree with dean a minimum of 250A or else it will be somewhat similar to a 24K gold turd .

To do that takes some juice! It would be welded on after that.
