my buddys dad just showed me his ford autolite inline 1470cfm carb and cross over intake for 302 boss. would have came on a trans am mustang. very rare very $$$ if you can even find one .his it bran new in the ford parts box's. HAVE ANY of you all ever seen or herd of this?im thinking it would be bad ass on a truck. and he has got a Hilborn Fuel Injection for Ford 289/302 would it make a good off road set up?

Saw one several years ago at acar show. Was a very unique setup. Due to the rarity I wouldn't use it for anything today but it does make a good conversation piece....:)

I would sell it to a collector. 1470 cfm is a huge carb.

The Autolite inlines go for about $1500 to $2000 on ebay. Still in the box would likely go for more. Needs the matching intake to be useful.

Hilborn mechanical injection is usually an all or nothing setup. It works good at idle and great at full throttle, not so good anywhere else. Some people have used them on street cars, but it takes lots of tweaking.

yea thay are so damn sweet looking. he is guna sell the autolite on ebay its got every thing to go on a boss. im guna try buy the hilborn but his son is talking him into puting it on a mustang

They sure are a sweet looking piece but I heard that they were a bitch to tune so I don't know how useful it would be on a 4x4
