I have a TH350 2wd transmission coming my way in a few months. I already have an NP203 that was originally bolted to a 4wd TH350. I only know that they are both late 70's - early 80's pieces. The guy with the transmission told me i could unbolt the tailhousing and bolt on the 203. Before I buy the transmission, i want to know if this is correct. If not, then is there anyway of attaching them w/out some very expensive AA piece. :D Thanks

You will have to disassemble the 2wd tranny and put the 4wd output shaft in. The tailhousing will have to be removed.

Is that something that i can do or would that be better left to the pros?

It's not a simple as just unbolting the rear tail shaft housing, and bolt on the 203. Your gonna have to tear apart the tranny and replace the slined haft for a shorter 4x shaft, then bolt on the adapter, then the tranny. If you don't have the adapter or the short shaft, I would pass on the tranny.:skull:

man,,,your in luck. i made a aluminum adapter on a lathe that takes a th350 2wd(short tail shaft 6in) and spaces it out so your tcase will bolt right up. i dont need it any more and ill sell it for 100 bucks and you pay shipping.

well that wasn't what i wanted to hear, but I'm glad i heard it before I spent all my money, I'll pass on the adapter, i guess i will just start looking for a 4x4 tranny/t-case. thanks guys
