Does anyone have any info on this? It looks like a good setup for the price, and is rated to a 35" tire, up to 200 lbs, so 36's shouldn't be a problem. It mounts to the body, but there are sandwich plates for the inside and it mounts to the tailgate too, so I'm assuming it'll be very strong. I'm most interested in the price, which is around $230, which sure beats the $500 most carriers are running. The only thing I'm wondering about is how in the heck you open the gate with the tire offset to the left a little like that. Seems like a tight squeeze. there are also reinforcers that bolt to the roll bar mounts - guess they keep the body from buckling out? i saw that in my new 4wheelparts mag this week and wondered the same thing...

I am thinking I will call 4 wheel parts hardware and see if they have one.
If they do I think its worth the 1 hr drive to see it in person. I think I like it.

Its a bit more expensive, but the 4wheeldrive hardware bumper/spare tire carrier is quite stout.

I've seen their tire carrier and like it alot, but there's a big difference between $230 and $530. I wish I had the money for one of the full bumper/carrier combo's, but there are too many things I need (One big ass dent in my gas tank has shown the need for a skid plate now <IMG SRC="smilies/rolleyes.gif" border="0"> ) If this carrier would do the job well, that's all I ask of it <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

I called 4WD Hardware and they don't have them in yet, but expecting them real soon. they told me to call back early this week. I found the carrier at www.jimsoffroadwarehouse.com (http://www.jimsoffroadwarehouse.com) for $219, so including shipping it would work out to 4WD hardwares pre-shipping price. If 4WD will price match, I'd rather buy it from them because I like that place alot... Jim's didn't have them in either but also said to call back mid-week.
