I scored a clean 67' half cab on flea bay. Thought it would be a good base for a build. Here are a few pictures of what it looked like in the ad.

I had a hauler pick it up in AL and haul it back to Kansas. Here are a few shots just seconds after taking it off the trailer.

I scored a 5.4 Tritan out of a 2006 Ford truck. It has an auto behind it. It also comes with the computer and harness as well as radiator and batt.;D I will be pulling it in the new few days and I'll post up pics then.

This past week I decided to do up the front axle. If you would hit the brakes it would do a HARD 90 degree turn to the pass. side. It was VERY unsafe.

Pulled it in my shop/barn and pulled the front tires.

While I had everything off I decided it was time for ball joints. What a B!tch they were to get out. But will be worth it in the long run.

Just a few of the parts I picked up.

I have seen this before. The pads were almost new that were on there (they are going in the trash anyhow) but the rotors were toast. It's easier for someone to put pads on than go to the effort of taking the hub etc. off just to swap our the rotors.

I stopped taking pictures when it got to the balljoint part. I had my neighbor over how helped a ton as these were no one man job as well as they were rusted in there. By this point my hands were covered in you know what so I decided it wasn't the best time to grab my new camera.;D

Went and picked up the 2006 F150 that has my 5.4 in it with the auto behind it. Runs like a champ!!! Tons of power. Here it is in my neighbors drive. I am VERY excited about getting this bad boy in there. I'm going to order an atlas once I get it pulled and get a spline count.

Some might wonder. Why throw any $ at that dana 44 front? When I got it if you hit the brakes it would do the hardest 90 degree turn to the right you have ever been a part of. It was all I could do to keep it from ending up in the ditch every time. I do have some one tons that will go under it but wanted to get the motor, trans, t case out of the way first. The 302 that is in it runs great and is very strong but there is something to be said for fuel injection:smokin: Plus I swore I would never own another manual again so it was going to have to get a trans swap. I'm going to build it tuff but It is not going to be a trail only rig (already have one of those builds going on)
http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t213/406yj/Cage%202-13-09/RollCage2-13-09013.jpgso its streetability is a huge part of each choice I make. I'm thinking 4 linked front and rear. I don't like the way they set up the lift on this thing and to be honnest it's flat riged. But that will be phase # 2. More pictures to come.........

i can tell you why it turns when braking :flipoff2:

it has a TTB steering on it - with every bump or when the truck leans the toe changes, drastically it should have a solid tie rod from knuckle to knuckle -

and a 5.4 3 valve ? or is it the harratige base model with the 2 valve ?

i was going to but a 6.8 in my truggy, but funds ran low - but its not done yet :D

Thanks. Yes. Just as the cover says. 5.4 3 valve. Its out of a 2006. I have to say. I don't know $hit about ford motors. They have never been my first choice when out shoping for high HP on a low budget. Plus. Ford parts are expensive. But I couldn't bring myself to put any blue tie stuff into an old classic bronco. I'll have to take a better look at the steering. I'm yet to put 50 miles on the thing. I wasn't sure what direction I was going to go with it until I had that 5.4 fall into my lap. Wheels and tires are going up for sale in the next 30 as well as the motor, trans (4 speed manual) and the stock dana 20 t case. There is a little voice in the back of my head saying. (((((Atlas)))))) Keep the ideas flowing and thanks for the help!!

Sweet build! Can't wait to see how she turns out with the 5.4 in it. It's my dream to get an EB an do a 5.4 swap in one......Just one problem for me, not enough of the green to go around...

That definatley doesn't look like inverted Y TTB style steering(That's 76-77 only) and it doesn't look like the stock 66-75 inverted T stuff either, where the drag link hooks to the tie rod looks very non stock, and stock only has one adjuster sleeve on the tie rod.

All I can say is good luck putting that 5.4 in there... That's going to need lots of grease and a shoehorn....

sweet, My buddies dad has a 66' half cab that looks identical to yours. He ran a 460 in his for a few years, and then pulled it out, and replaced it with a V-10, and realy likes the power of the mod motor..

The 5.4L motor is great. I miss my 2004 lariat:(

That transmission looks like the 2wd version, what is your plan there?

Good question on the trans. I don't know anything about ford motors or trans. I'm not going to kid myself.

You are correct. I found a dumbass that had a perfect 2006 F150 with the 5.4 and the auto in it. 50,000 miles on it. He wanted to put a V-10 in it and I scored the motor and trans and computer on the WAY cheap.,(I drove the thing to my house) It is a 2wd trans. I can't even tell y ou what trans it is:laughing:

I'll take it to a trans shop and have them change out the tail shaft. I'm not sure what I'm going to do for sure yet....I wanted to go with an atlas behind it but the more I think about it that will be a waist as this isn't going to be the most hardcore bronco I've ever seen. So the Dana 20 might hold up fine. I still need to look into that part but will take any info anyone has to offer up.

Good job on the horse pics.:D
If you do decide to keep the d20 you might want to upgrade the rear output shaft. D20 output shafts don't really like 300 hp. :shaking:

I kick myself for selling off half the stuff I have. I sold that dana 300 that was twinsticked because I looked at it on my bench for 6 mo. But I would have had to of flipped it bc now I'm playing with ford stuff and that's a pain so it's good that one found a new home. I sold that Atlas 2 because I thought I was going to flip my front rockwell over to drivers side drop. Then come to find out pass. side worked out best.:shaking:
