I have a Hi-performance bug motor I was building 20 years ago for my baja that I no longer want and I don't know how much to sell it for....
It's a 1600cc case built into a 2010cc
It has a forged and counter balanced crank
An Engle 100 Baja cam
Forged piston rods, forgot the name
Hi-flow oil pump tapped for cooler/filter lines
Large valve racing heads(used), with matching intake manifolds
Single Weber carb and misc parts.
I stopped the project years ago because I needed to buy new 90.5mm pistons and jugs for it. So yeah, it needs pistons and jugs.
I know this ain't the best place for VW info but it's worth a try

Not knowing the brands of parts makes estimates difficult without pics.
If your talking about Scat, Super-Flo, Pauter or Auto Craft for the crank rods or cyl. heads then they do still hold good value.
If I remember correctly 78x90.5 is roughly 2010cc .
The cam grind is about as mild as you can get and was designed for stock or near stock heads with factory geometry rockers(1.11:1).
Do you have any idea of rod length?

No I don't know how long the rods are. The motor is at my moms house and I need to get some pics and more info off it.

Finally got some pics but I can only upload one at a time or I get an error message.:rolleyes:
It also has a light flywheel that was balanced. Eepco heads that need a little repair with heliarc.
I also have miscellaneous high performance parts for it/on it. Oil cooler, valve covers, neoprene bushings/mounts, etc.
All it needs is pistons and jugs to be complete and I'm just looking for a ballpark number to charge for it. I don't want to rip anyone off or get ripped off myself.

I guess "built" was the wrong word.
I have a professionally modified case with high-performance parts that needs to be assembled.

I'm sorry, I thought this was the pirate 4x4 forum not the samba.com! there are dozens of VW forums this question could be posted on and you'll probably find a buyer easier too. having spent a considerable amount of time building and driving V-dubs I can tell you that engine isn't worth half of what you had into it. but good luck!

BTW, A friend gave me that motor as a favor so I have no money into it.
