I need to figure out how to make something or buy something like this, I hope it makes sense...
Take a raingler net, remove all the webbing except the perimeter webbing and sew in clear or tinted plastic (like the factory windows). My 2 year old daughter rides with my two times a week to daycare, and since I have the bikini top on, if it rains the wife and I have to swap vehicles.
The wife doesn't really like driving the Jeep. This would allow me to strap the windows on when it rains and remove them when it's not raining, much faster than breaking out the softop, bolting it back on, installing all the windows, etc.
Anyone know of someone who makes something like this? Anyone know where I can find the plastic that's in the factory windows so I can make something like this?
Thanks!

I'm not aware of anything like this and I'm not really sure how it would work. You'd have to do some testing for aerodynamics to see if it would end up drawing the rain in around the back or whatever.
I'm sure you could find some windows from someone that has replaced their soft top or upper soft doors. The doors are cut off the frames to be replaced, making them virtually useless. The zippers are normally screwed, but the window could still be usable for a project like yours.

Thanks, that's probably what I'll end up doing. As far as the rain coming in or around, I'm not too worried about that, it's only like 5 miles at 30 MPH, I usually don't feel the rain hitting the back of my head until around 60. I just need something to keep the rain (mostly) off of her for those 5 miles. Then I'd more than likely remove the windows to drive the other 40 miles to work.
I'm not looking for absolute waterproofedness - just a little something to help :)
Thanks!

How about something like this?

Hmm... that might do the trick. Do you have one? How quick does it go on and off?

I don't.. but it looks like it'd go on and off real quick. I think I've also seen a safari style top that has sides like that but they roll up in to the top when you're not using them. It might even be this one. I know I've seen it in one of the catalogs I always get, so it's probably on Quadratec's site somewhere. Or maybe 4wd Hardware.

The Safari top where the windows store in the top is the Viking Fastback.

Check with a boat top repair place, they may have the material you need. Instead of destroying the Raingler nets, why not use snaps or some other secure fastener to attach the clear stuff to the existing net? Make a window with a sturdy border out of similar material to the Raingler net, use the snaps or those little twist lock things boats also use, roll up the windows in a soft bag and toss behind the seat when sunny. Don't know what it'll cost but it'll be unique and pretty cool if done well.
