Im wanting to push the front end of my tj out a litle bit. It has a RE long arm right now. I was wondering if I can just lengthen the lowers and build a new upper and make it a 3 link. Any body done this? Is it better just the sell the RE arms and build my own?THX

depends on how far you want to extend them. RE has a +1 coupller. If you want to go out more I would probably sell the ones you have and make new ones.

There was a TJ build here a while back were a guy inner-sleeved a set of RE longarms... turn out really nice, I can't find it right now or I'd link to it, but it's here.

I turned a Rusty's Y-link into my new 3 link. Links only got about 3" longer but I sleved the ENTIRE inside with 1 1/2" .250 wall. (BTW, I must have been one of the lucky few, but my arms were 1/4 wall, not 3/16" like I hear a lot of people are finding) Then I took a piece of Schedule 40 2'' pipe (2.38" OD, 2.07" ID, ripped it in half, and sleved the entire length of the bottom of the arms. They came out fine, look good, and Im pretty sure they wont break. At least not the tube portion anyways.

And yea...they are heavy as a mo-fo.

I personally would sell the radius arms and start fresh. New those RE arms are $600 so you might be able to pay for your new arms in full.

I think 2" 1/4 wall DOM is like 15 bucks a foot, and you can get some pretty good deals on rod ends through Ruff Stuff.

Just my 2 pennies

I just got done lengthening the front and rear arms on my RE long arm. I went 3 in the front and 7 in the back. Its a sucky job but I have only $70 bucks in it. It would be cheaper if your just doing the front.
