my new reman engine started to knock after about 1000 miles. it got to the point where it sezied. the piston were chiped and scuffed pretty bad on the sides. so i put in new pistons oversized .40 just like the ones that were in there. now when i try to start it the starter barly turns maybe 4-6 times before it fails, ive burned up 5 starters doing this, atleast there free. i tryed to pull start it with a truck but my tires just lock up and slide. thanks

Who built the engine? Was it you or some hack company by the name of Recon? As soon as your piston was all fucked up that means you should have had the whole block gone over again. What was knocking the piston, the crank? How do you know the first pistons were .40 over? Something isn't making sense, Ive never seen a piston just shred itself to shit for no reason.

eagle built the engine, the frist pistons were stamped .40 and seem to slide in pefectly. some how the oil filter cloged up badly so no oil went into the vavles for at leats 30 mins.

Was it oil starvation at the rod bearing that caused it? Plan on all the crank bearings (rods and mains) being like this if thats the case.
Hows the cam? Without a new line bore, bearings, etc...this engine is trash.
I would contact the company that remanned this engine and start asking about a warranty. :homer:

You are supposed to change your oil filter at 100 and 500 miles after an engine rebuilt. Theres usually alot of shit that gets in the oil. Even then something seems weird. I've never heard of Eagle rebuilt motors. They could be some Recon wannabe hacks. Its hard to say without looking at the motor. I'm not sure whos at fault at this point. Talk to the manufacturer and use your warranty.
