: Turn signal problem.

On my 2000 Expedition the turn signals flash a couple of times then quit. Or they do not flash at all; they just come on and stay on. If I turn them off and on again they may work for a while then stop.

I need help trying to figure out what is wrong. I am not familiar with the newer vehicles electrical systems.

I know on my 1977 F250 they have a flasher switch that you can replace. But when they go bad they are bad and do not work intermittently.

Any help will be appreciated.

id say the flasher - or

can you hold the turn signal switch down and get it to work ? aka force it to far just to see if the contacts are touching -- but if it dosent work on the left or right side then id say flasher - the one for the turn signals sould be fuse panel by your left knee

Sounds like the multi function switch is bad. Try pounding on the hazard switch and moving it around, side to side.

Do the newer trucks even have flshers?

I did spray some carb cleaner at the multifunction switch. Seems to be a bit better, but still have problems.

When it does not work I have to turn the signal off and on again, sometimes several times to get it to work. It will flash for a while then quit.
