I'm going to take my hard top all apart and replace all the seals and put in a new hedliner, does anyone have any advice? I've heard that the hedliner can be a pain in the A**. I have never taken the hard top completely apart is there anything "tricky" about this task?
thanks guys

The trick to getting the strip over the front doors off is to remove the three screws on the inner side and then slide out the piece that seals against the door to reveal the bolt that hold it to the top. Just like a Chinese puzzle.

we used spray in adhesive (make sure it is GOOOD stuff) to glue the old headliner back to the top. pretty soon i am going to find some old shag carpet and glue that bad boy up there.

You have to remove the L-shaped bracket at the back. I think there are also bolts going into the rear door header from the side.

On my old 67' I just flipped the top over, riped out the old head liner and cleaned up the fiber glass. Using 3M carpet spray glue I installed black Cadilac trunk carpet. I was able to get the corners to streach so there where no cut and glue lines. I also put the only seam just above the roll bar so you never saw it. This worked great, looked good and made it considerably warmer and quite in the rig. Easy stuff.

I'm with helocat. Mine has greyish carpet up there, and it's so much better looking than stock. Also deadens a little bit of noise, which is always nice :)

glue marine carpet up there, it deadens more sound, looks better, and is pretty easy.....looks awesome too
that hardtop, that piece actually SLIDES out, undo the bolts and push on it, it has two tabs that are between your cab sides and your roof gutter.....
