Went to rebuild my carb today and one of the tubes that connect to the choke broke off. I have a 304 with the Motorcraft 2 barrel. The part is bolted to the intake and consists of a tube that runs through a mounting plate and coils underneath the manifold. Parts whores could not find anything for me and have searched for about an hour in catalogs and the net with no pics or info found. What is this part called and where can I find a replacement? Thanks for any help. Let me know if more info is needed and I can put up a pic tomorrow.

Ok hers a pic. Not mine exactly but found one.

Painted on pic shows what I'm referring to, Black is the tubes you can see, Blue is mounting plate, Green is mounting bolts, and Yellow is approximately how it coils under the manifold.

Nice breakdown. The pics are not necessary, most will know exactly what you are talking about.

Its just a tube that loops down into the egr passage, uses the warm exhaust gasses to heat tube to heat the choke coil. I'm not sure but I don't think you'll find it anywhere.(they all rust out) Just pull the plate weld the little holes to block it off and run a manual choke.

Hmmm? Really hate the idea of a manual choke. Is there a way to thread thread the plate and put an electronic temp sensor in there or would I have to change the choke "body"? completely?

I've been racking my brain and the net trying to find one....Standard motor Products ( in the Hygrade line ) used to make electric conversions for the older 2100 series carbs...I'll keep looking, but if your local parts guys have a Hygrade catalog, have them check under older Ford models.....

Sorry, it's been almost 3 years since I've slung parts.....( but after 15 years of doing it, it's scary what stays in your head....)

eta: Brain fart....

You might be able to make a Holley Electric choke kit work.....

That holley kit looks like it might work. The retaining ring looks exactly the same. I did find a carb manual from Walker and Dl'ed that, Thing is My carb has the venturis like a late style 2100, but this vent deal on the front lip of the air horn assembly like the 2150s??? ODM2J was the number on the tag, which is listed on the spec chart in the rebuild kit, but could not be found in the parts whores catalogs?...

I just cant wait to get the time to swap in my TBI 350 and 700R4
