I remember reading somewhere a year or so ago that a K5 blazer brake setup (cant remeber the years) was a close match to swap into a CJ7. I thought it said all u really had to do was cut the linkage from the two and put the jeep part on the gm booster an it was basically a bolt up from there. I bought the booster a while back and finally got to put it in. I got it wlded and moved some stuff around to make it fit and now it looks as thought it's gonna be to tall for the hood.

has anyone done this swap or know anything about it that can help me to get it finished the right way? and if u have done it do u happen to have any pics I can look at to help

thanks guys Jason

Sorry dude. NO idea on this one and i"ve researched brakes for a long time.

You can (my axles have them) use mid 70's chevy K series disc's. I think they are what Jeep used on it's full sized trucks. You can use the corvette MC with this set up. I think that is almost a straight bolt in. You need to make a few minor adjudtments but I don't think you need to go to any big production to get it in.

There is alos the E350 MC.

I have been reading about both of those swaps. I've noticed most use the corvette one but go without the booster and just do manual. it seems to be a simple setup that works well for most but not everyone. is the e350 swap onto the booster or just go manual? haven't read quite as much on that one

i would suggest doing a YJ dual dia./mc swap. its pretty much a a bolt on, with the exception rod linkage....but i did a navajo brake swap, from offagain4x4.com and my cj stops great

Bringing this back from the dead.

I am looking for a DD booster that will work with the stock CJ booster bracket. Just looking for a application that will work without to much of a fuss.

On my CJ I used a booster, master and bracket from a Chevy S-10. Works fine. You only have to re-drill some holes in the firewall and seal up the old holes. Be sure on what ever swap you do it comes from a vehicle with the same brake configuration as your CJ. Such has the donor has disc's in front and drum in back or whatever the combo is otherwise be sure to change the proportioning valve block to the appropriate configuration.

I like everything about what I have now but the pressure.

1981 Jeep Scrambler
reman factory booster with the kit from tricounty gear that changes the pivot point.
1.25 bore MC from a 1979(?) van
3/4 ton front GM calipers in the front.
Explorer disks in the rear.

I would like to switch to DD booster

Any more thoughts on a replacement dual dia booster that will swap in place of a stock CJ booster?

You need to use a dual diaphram booster from an s10 blazer you will just have to shorten the rod. And a jeep wagoneer master cylinder will work good both from the early 90's
