Is the 4l60 2wd or 4wd? If it is a 4wd transmission then there should be a couple that will bolt to it. Otherwise you are in adapter city.

There was no 4l60's in 2004 chevys, there was only 4l60E's totaly differnet case. 4l60 has 4 bolts on the rear, 4l60e has 6, same pattern as th400.
All transfer cases will need an adapter, are you asking if you dont need an aftermarket adapter???? because you will still need a factory adapter. What are you looking for, pass or drive drop, steel or alum case?
Start by looking for a tcase out of a 2000 and up chevy. Depending on what output shaft is on your trans you may need to cut it down or swap it out.

no no....
cant be done.
cant pull it off with this equipment.

only one case will fit. if you dont have it, it wont fit.
if you get it, you wont be able to make it fit.

can we make it fit?
Only if we get it to make it fit.
if you want us to make it fit, we can help.
if you want to make it fit yourself, we can help.

It might be awful hard to pull that transfer case out of your ass after you make it fit yourself....

did i explain myself?

sorry this is a 4l60e trans and it is 4wd. i do have the stock case that came with this setup but is a driver drop. dont really care if it is a steel or alum case. just need to do it cheap. I have a 208 in the truck now that will be coming out. was told that it should bolt right up but not sure. and for grumpy old fart when you read the title why did you open it if your tired of hearing the same ol questions. dont know why some people have to be an ass over simple questions. sorry i wanted to narrow this problem down fast so i can get this swap done as quick as i can. thanks to everyone elses help.

Look for a np241c they came as driver and passenger drops although the pass drops are harder to find. They also have a vss sensor which you will probably need with an electric transmission.

He answered you in the post above!

He is correct also. Look for one out of an IFS truck. The solid axle FS Blazers and sub's had a passenger side drop. The IFS trucks all got drivers side drops.

The NP241C came in all 1/2, 3/4, and 1 ton IFS chevy's for a long time. 88-98 with a floor shifter is easy to locate.

You can use an auto-trac case but it would require electronics, the 241 is manually operated and the simplest solution.

youll need a adapter. you can use one out of a 700r4/np208 set up. you can find about 20 in any junkyard anywhere. but as was said you need one with a hook up for the VSS im running a 208 behind my 4l60 and it dont shift out of first unless i do it manually

That should be perfect.

The only issue may be a stretched chain, however, I've never personally experienced this. Chevy put them in 1 ton's because they're not a weak design. And they're easily rebuildable.

Damn, come to think of it I have one sitting in the garage out of a 91 LD3/4ton.

He's already running a 208 so I'd say it should be a bolt in deal.

If it doesn't bolt up you should be able to get the stock tail-housing from a junkyard easily.

make sure its from a 1/2 ton. Most or all 3/4 and 1 ton t-cases came with a 32 spline input to match the 4l80e trans. The 4l60e has a 27spline shaft.
