since doing my SAS my brakes have sucked. i am on a quest to get them to the state they were before the SAS. i am not sure if any of you have changed calipers, MC, Rotors. but i would like to get any information you have. before the SAS even with 33's on hot dry pavement i could lock up all 4 with out even trying, now i am lucky to get it to stop in a decent distance, i have blead the brakes many many times, and it doesn't help. Someone told me that there was a year of Chevy that came with 4 piston calipers, is this true? if so what year?
HELP!!
I know this isn't hardcore, but my wife drives this thing, and she is hard on brakes, and use to driving a honda civic. i don't want her to cream anyone driving down the highway.

What's the bore on your MC?? Mine locks up all 4 of my chevy "big" calipers and 37 MTR's, using the stock '93 V6 MC ~1" bore, I think.

I have the same issues. Stock 13/16ths MC, and I've just gotten used to it is all. I do want to upgrade to some good pads when I swap out to my Warns, but I doubt it'll help a lot. I'm not up to a bigger MC if I ever get around to it.

My guess is the problem is with the LSPV. I have an '89 SAS and the brakes worked pretty well for a few years. I broke one of the brake lines half way bown the frame and had to replace it. They never worked right again. I bled them a bunch of times and they still sucked. I finally took the stupid thing off and pitched it in the scrap pile. If you let all of the fluid drain out of your lines this might be the problem, oh and don't let your wife drive.

Look into the FJ80 master cylinder, it has a 1" bore.

Are the calipers clearing everything okay? To get the Chevy calipers to clear my Ford 44 I had to grind away at the knuckle where the turn stop is. I didn't grind enough away and the caliper couldn't slide enough to clamp all the way. Look underneath, you should be able to see at least 1/16 of daylight all the way around the caliper.

Mine cleared everything fine, except my new driver side, hi steer arm, I had to grind the arm a bit, but the calipers were fine with just crossover. I had to grind a lot off of the rear calipers to fit inside my 15" wheels.
