What would you guys suggest in terms of Donor Coil Springs for the rear of a K5 on 44's with a 350. Im looking into doing a 4link in the rear but would like to see what springs some of you guys are running or can suggest. the Truck is Gutted, it only has the frame, Dash board and full cage. Trying to keep it a budget build so a donor spring suggestion would be great unless i can get a decent priced New coil.

Thank You.

This is a friend of mine,I believe he uses 6" James Duff bronco coils. The pics I had of his 4-link are gone somewhere, I can't seem to find them. these are the best I have. Wade

I have seen stock jeep coils used on a full size buggy with not much left to it, really it depends on how soft you want it. Here is the buildup http://coloradok5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=233893&highlight=link+rear

Why Coils?? Check this one out. I wanted to go super cheap and be able to adjust the ride height. I Can take it up or down almost about a 12" range.

What have you got there?
It looks like a wishbone 3 link, and the leaves are links? If so, that's an accident waiting to happen. Or am I missing something?

i think its a one link and the leaf spring is there to act like a coil does. looks sick to me

Are you using those bolts to adjust ride height? Seems like a very week link in your system.

so the whole weight of the truck sits on that 1 bolt, WOW! If it were me I would give that bolt some sheer strength somehow. I know there is not a lot of twist at that point but without a panhard bar you will see twist. I do like the 1/4 elliptical idea, I have seen it for years and just never had a rig to really use it on.

The plates that the elliptical are attached to are machined. The leafes actually rotate at that point. It dosent need a Panhard because the leafes keep the axle centered. The plates have exactually .030 clearance. And the bolt dosent look like it but its actually a 1 inch thick grade 8. Thats where the ride height is adjustable. And its mounted with a solid mounted wishbone. It actually works verywell. The limiting factor is the tires hit the bed right above the frame where I cut the bed out. I have a video of before I cut the rest of the bed out for clearance. I made this because I needed something cheap and I that was the goal. I just reused the leafes from the back. The front is actually some QA1 14" spring that I made a mount some mounts for Ill post more pics for you guys. Heres the video. of before the bed was clearanced

Oh and before I get flamed Know that I didnt build this for brute strength I dont do anything but mud bog comps.

I don't get how the rearend doesnt shift side to side without a panhard bar. It looks like a cool idea but I don't like how little attachment points you have for as much horsepowr it looks like you have. And it looks to be a little high in the air. I am guessing it is a mud only truck? Maybe that suspension holds up in the mud?
