Going to pick this up in the morning? What you guys think? Plan is to put overhead pop-up camper on the front and the Binder over the axles. Mechanos and me like all the good stuff.

might need to load the truck a little farther back to adjust the pin weight. You towing with a DRW or SRW?

Scout,
Nice Trailer,
Wish it had been available when I bought my 24 footer.

SRW, you think it will be to heavy or what? Yes there should be plenty of room for movement though. Camper will use front 8.5' of floor space.

Super nice trailer, I've been looking myself here lately and am really suprised what trailers are going for these days, especially new ones. Post up some pics when you have it loaded, you towing to Clayton with it soon. Cummins TD tow rig I hope.

the pin weight can go up quick. Once you get the camper on, go scale it and see what it's doing with and without the truck.

That looks like a second gen Dodge 2500. You should have a GVW of 8800. I'd guess your rear axle gross at 6k. But empty at 3k ish. Just the tongue of the trailer will add 1000-1500.

Ya plan on it Easter weekend. Not my truck in picture, I guess that is current owners truck. Mine is CTD, 99 model with a little extra juice. Will post pics later.

when you roll'ed with the camper in the bed the LEO's never gave you a second look. It was obvious you were a recreational tow.
When you step up to goose towing. Some LEO's automatically assume you are commercial until proven otherwise. So it's better to have your shit together ahead of time.

10-4, never thought of that but the camper and rig will be on trailer so I would think that they still assume that a redneck rig like this has to be recreational. Thanks for the heads up and can't wait to pick it up and roll south with it.

Scout,
I was in the Northeast part of town, we now live in Lawrence Kansas.
Do you know any of the Stiecken's?
I gave 3,500 for mine, it is a deckover.

Name sounds familiar, but can't put a face with it. Just got home with new trailer. Pulled awesome considering its empty. No snaffoos or unexpected "well I forgot to tell you about that". Good transaction and I think both parties are happy. Will try and post up some pics when I get stuff loaded on it.

Been wheelin quite a bit and the low boy is awesome. Forgot to take pics with me and Dobsogj loaded on it. Put my truck all the way to the front and then backed his on and aired the piss out of the back tires so they would fit inbetween fenders. Got the camper mounted this week and headed north. Managed to snap a shot with it all on top. Tool box was moved to back of truck later. Pulled good, seemed like front shimmeed some during certain road conditions. Only happened twice and I couldn't really feel it just saw it in rear view mirror. Will investigate later. Also stopped and picked up turn buckles pulled straight down and used them on the way home instead of ratchet straps. After 7.5 hrs on the road its still setting in the same spot.

Knorr has a black one excactly like yours that I get to pull on occasion. Talk about nice! I would much rather have two rigs on this than 1 on a 18ft bumper pull.

When I stretched my trailer, I moved the axles back to increase the pin weight. With the relatively light camper taking up front 8 ft. of the deck, most of my trail rigs weight would be either very close to the tandem's center line or behind it. I moved the tandems back to shift more of the weight onto the pin and I am also pulling with a SRW 2500.

It would've added too much weight for the benefit, but I would have loved to fab up a sliding tandem setup similar to what you see on semi trailers.

Ya thats what I think could be the issue. Rig will be loaded a little bit further forward next time. Plus need to get the front boxes filled with parts, jack, blocks and all the necessities. All in all I am pleased with the set up so far.
