Most Powerful?, not including the Cyclone Turbo: '92-'95 CFI Vortec 205hp. After that, '96-'99 CSFI Vortec 195hp, way more sensors and harder to wire, more expensive parts. I got a '97 Vortec, if I did it again, I'd use a '92 or so TBI with the balance shaft, plenty reliable, enough power for me(160hp), easier to set up, cheaper.

Frankie, If I was you I would get the v-6 better yet I-4.
I hear POWER WHEELS was looking for a chassie to sponser. Paint some flowers on it. Get one of these :rainbow: for the hood
REASONS TO GET THE GEO METRO POWER TRAIN
#1 You could get Power Wheels to throw in some of those plastic geared portal axles.
#2 PLASTIC OR WOODEN DRIVE SHAFTS
#3 13 " boggers are cheap
#4 beer can gas tank
#5 wont need seat belt or helmet (its already to late)
#6 one seater, no power for pass
#7 lawn mower battey, with speaker wire for cables
Now be shure to put a bumper on the back that will match up to my front, In case we ride together. I will carry the beer, and chicks.
What happened to all that ram jet 502 talk?????

Guys check out this pm

the 502 is so dam heavy i think the 502 alone weighs more than shupee's compleat rig the ls1 is what i realy wont but lets remember this is a compation machine and light is what i;m after if i wonted a trail machine i woud have not sold the reaper also i wont a low slung machine and the portals are already a instant 6'' lift so if i use a v6 i can have room for the axle to compress in front of the motor becaus i'm building the frame to suit the components but dam i have a heavy foot so the ls1 sounds good but the v6 is it realy not enough?i have 7.50 axle gears with 42'' swamnpers and maybe 3,800 lbs total weight
dan dible mr 4x4x4x4x4x4 please stop drinking and typing before sombody gets hurt:flipoff2:

What he said!! For what low mile LS1's are going for and the fact that they have wire harnesses for them now plus a 125 shot of N2O is cheap and easy I would never have done my turbo 4.3!!! The wire harness alone for this cost me almost $700. Plus the intercooler, custom piping for it, blow off valve etc. Just get the LS1. :flipoff2: I had to spend $200 and order the 7 set books on it just to order parts. No chevy dealer even remembers what a syclone motor is! I don't even want to go into the vacume hose mess it has. I think I used 16 feet of new silicon hose because the old stuff was cracking from the turbo heat.

DON'T DO IT.

He said 4.3, not turbo 4.3 and the 94 4.3L (CPI) I have has a SINGLE vacumm line. Having said that and seen Frankie drive, I don't think he'd be happy with the 4.3L :D But it is a good motor Frankie. Chevy V8 with 2 cylinders lopped off. Its got a nice torque curve, with peak not too much past 1500 rpms and is relatively flat from there. 200-205'ish HP for the 92-95 CPI versions. A little less, I think for the laster model ones, like Shupee (98)is running in his buggy. I don't know how much it weighs.

Well this will get the newbie flamed but fawk it...
Will the GM Marine Vortec 4.3 (http://www.gm.com/automotive/gmpowertrain/engines/vortec/apps/marine/vortec43.htm) bolt into a 4x? It's 223HP and 267lb-ft of torque in factory trim. I've been digging on this motor for a while now and have not found alot of info, but it's $2200 from a supplier without w/pump, flywheel, and fuel system. More then a 4.3 from a wrecker or even a new crate motor but build tougher.

:D One fellow in Norway (Kjellis) who drivers Trial in prototype class has ford Explorer V6 and Volvo portals and 38.5" SX. He has been satisfied to his engine (he has tuned it up some bit), but he would like to get his car lighter. So he's been thinking to put T-5 Volvo engine (5-cyl. turbo charged etc.). But after hearing one Finnish guy (Tuukka Laasonen) driving his proto car Mud Rod with Camaro V8 TPI Kjellis had said: Fuck the Volvo and V6 :flipoff2: :flipoff2: I have to get back to V8!! In his previous car (Jeep with d60 and ARBs) he had 355 chevy with about 420 horses.

So stick with the 502 :D :D
