 I've been looking at All Pro's Hy- Steer crossover kit. According to their Web page, they say the arms are for 79's and above. What about 76's? Any ideas?

79+ cruisers have the same knuckle arm stud pattern as mini trucks. 76-78 are different. No one makes arms for them. Last I heard, Rockstomper was looking into it. Your best option is to convert to mini knucklesif you want histeer.

Just pick up a pair of knuckles from a mini, and bolt all your crusier stuff on. A good friend did this with his 76', we also confirmed this by talking with All-Pro. The bolt pattern for the spendals matched right up on his rig. All-Pro even indicated they sell the Mini kuckles for $40 each just for this. You can talk to the guy that did this at: todd_winkler@msn.com

I tried a set of the AP's on my cruiser. Then I took them off and went with OTT's

Much happier now :)

Go the mini route. You will not be dissapointed!!!

I put mini truck disk brakes on the front of my 1969 FJ-40 and used the all-pro hy-steer. Seems to work good, kind of seemed close to the springs on my SOA, but now I have p/s so when I go to pick up the cruiser this week I'll see how the clearence is now...

Yep, too close IMHO that is why I went to OTT. They are taller.

do the OTT ones have a web site? If you like them I might switch later on, and sell these, or if I screw these up wheeling, they might not like that new ram:D

Bummer, this thread pops up moments after I ordered the All Pro arms. Secret surgical operation on my Cruiser required new arms. I hope they are high enough for the springs and the new hanger mounting points. Pics will follow when it's all healed.

100"+ of wheelbase with leafs! I really wish they allowed full hydraulic steering in Legends, that damn steering box is in the way!

Now, Mike, I'm older 'n dirt and I remember the same discussion a few months ago, with Mace touting the OTT arms then.

I'll take that as "use the search dipshit", but honestly it was late Friday and I didn't really have the time to spend. Called All Pro and they were expecting the UPS man anytime, he showed up while I was on the phone and they confirmed handing him my package. Until just recently I fought off the SO bug and paid less attention than I should have to related posts.

Maybe my memory is aging faster than yours................:D

I got the OTT's last winter after seeing Jason's picture on a post. I thought they were the best out there in comparison to extreme gears and all pros. The reason i like there's is two holes in the pasenger side arm. And built beefy. Used one ton gm ball joints and solid stock draglink and tierod. The only problem since cutting and turning my frront housing and doing the hysteer is needing more of a drop pitman arm and bending two pitman arms out of the past three weekends of going out.
