I was wanting a little more flex as well as a little more lift with some 1/2 ton rear springs and I know I would have to move the front hanger a little more forward. I have done some research and it seems as tho there are most of the holes to do this and here are some pictures of what I got now I was just wanting some tips maybe? What exactly do I need to to and some things to keep in mind? I know I'll need new break lines and possibly shocks how do I check to see it my shocks will work?


Here is my idea of what I wanna do.

Front:
I was thinkin 1/2 ton spring for a little nicer ride
longer shackles from diy4x.com part#00270k6

Rear:
Shackle flip the rear for the time being (as I am laid off and have virtually zero money). That would leave the rear sitting 2" lower then the front if I am correct. When I get some money flowing I would then pick up Part #00120KB witch would bring it level again if my calculations are correct. Any tips or corrections would be tight. I tried to post in the suspensions thread but it wouldn't let me, So I came here

Lwb chevy 3/4 ton not sure on the lift but it has 37's It could use a little more room. I'm still knew so be easy if you will I spend hours reading and looking at parts.

do a little more searching on this site. You can do a 52 inch spring swap and geta ton more articulation. DIY has a piece called the B52 for that swap. You are on the right track with the rear. You can even do a longer rear spring. The shackle flip in the rear gives you about 4 inches of lift. You can't post in the suspension forum because you are a NooB and that is a Vendor showcase.

I will. I don't exactly have the fund for the B52 like I want. I tried looking for pictures a little I'll look more in a sec but I was wondering if you or anyone else has picks or there front (rear) setup so I can have an idea of what Im doing haha.

I found this seems to be the answers to everything I asked about the springs. How about shocks? Will I need longer drive shafts or are they Ok up to 6 inches like I was told?

Going with the 52s, you will need to lengthen your front shaft about 1.25 inches.

I just had a "new" one built.

Shocks should be fine.

the funny part is you are able to search on ck5 but not here, the 52 swap has been corverd repeatedly and i personly did one write up showing what to do, how to make the springs work and how to do it without moving your axle forward.

I am currently laid off due to tuff economic times and I have read a LOT on here I have searched and been to the end of the internet for answers to these questions and my reason to post them is because they were in fact unanswered I have read in the newbie form and I'm not completely dumb when it comes to wrenching. I posted that then I started to read a bit a$$ backwards but hey now I know not to ask questions unless I win the lottery and am doing a build with people a little more knowledgeable then I am.

Listen, let me give you some advice. Everything you have the mental capabilty to grasp has been asked before. Things that you couldn't possibly fathom have still been asked before.
Your best bet is to search out all threads longer than 2 pages long about your particular application, in this case, chevy trucks. I can think of a few that answer everything you need to know, and have lots of pictures in case you can't sound out the big words. Or maybe,.........Just maybe, look at the people that are responding, search under their names, and guess what.......Some of us have taken the time to step by step explain this shit to all the mouth breathing newbies that show up here. I can guarantee that the pics we take don't benefit us, we know how to do it, so shut the fawk up and read some more.
