Is the wider wagon versions the same width as FJ60 axles?

no, i think they are wider than FJ60 axles. They are like 62" WMS, i think??? FJ60 axles are prolly about 60"

I think that `76 to `79 waggy is about the same as a FJ60/62 or close to 58" wide. The later waggys from `80 and newer have a wider axle at about 62 or 63 but I am not sure about that. They have the diff on the wrong side unless you run a Ford or a Wrangler Tcase with drivers side drop.

All Wagoneer D44 front axles are very close to 61-62" WMS.

Nope.

Pre-`79 "narrow track" waggy's are just a shade over 58" WMS to WMS. I've got one sitting right here and just measured it. I am going to pair up mine with a 58" wide 9" inch out of a 77 EB. Like I said before, it's the 80 and newer that are wider.

Measure the length of the inner axles. The ones that I have had were from 74-79 with the diff on the pass side and the inner axles were 14.69" and 33.19" long. The inner axles on 80-84 waggys are 15.8" and 32.12" long. These come out to about the same width. I don't know the difference between a narrow track Waggy and a wide track Waggy. I thought all Waggys were about 61-62".

When I tear it down, I'll measure them. Won't be for a few weeks though, have some other things going on right now.

Sounds like you might have a Cherokee front axle as they are wider and have pass side drop.

Cool. I would like more info when you tear it down. The axles that I have were all Waggy axles. The Cherokee axles are about 64" wide.
