here is the problem that i have i bought a motor that was supposed to be a from a 95/96 z28 which should have been an lt1 first mistake is that i did not make 100% before i bought my wiring harness from painless. well as it turn out the motor is actually a first generation vortec that looks very similar to the lt1 so here is the problem that i got the wiring harness has been sitting around the shop for about year till we started wiring on the motor about 99% of the the wiring harness plugs right up to this motor as the lt1 would so for the couple of plugs that did not we used the factor harness plugs this is when we realized that the motor was different but little late to try to sell the harness now i guess since i have changed a few of the plugs the computer that i have is for the lt1 also basiclaly i am wondering if anyone thinks that this set up will run this motor or should i not even try i could buy a new wiring harness but dont really want to spend the money if there is no need to do so

i dont see why it wouldnt if you have the computer for this engine just double check the wiring for that engine and make sure the wiring is going to the same spot in the computer as its suppose to go to

I don't think it's going to work unless you add a opti spark to the vortec engine or convert the LT harness to distributor.
